Camila Colombo
Camila Colombo Seré (born 4 June 1990) is a Uruguayan psychopedagogue and chess player. She was awarded the title of Woman International Master (WIM) by FIDE in 2012. Colombo is a multiple-time national women's champion. Personal life Born in Montevideo, Camila Colombo at age 8, together with her sisters, learned to play chess with her father. Colombo studied education at the at the University of the Republic, and psychopedagogy at Instituto Universitario CEDIIAP. Since 2011 she has lived in Spain and works at the ''Club Mágico de Extremadura'' as a sports and therapeutic chess instructor. She is studying for a master's degree in neuropsychological rehabilitation and cognitive stimulation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The 41st Chess Olympiad ( no, Den 41. Sjakkolympiade), organised by the FIDE, Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) and comprising an open and women's tournament, as well as several events designed to promote the game of chess, took place in Tromsø, Norway, between 1–14 August 2014. The 38th Chess Olympiad (german: Die 38. Schacholympiade), organized by FIDE and comprising an open and a women's tournament, as well as several other events designed to promote the game of chess, took place from 12 to 25 November 2008 in Dresden, Germany. There were 146 teams in the open event and 111 in the women's event. In total, 1277 players were registered. Both tournament sections were officiated by international arbiter Ignatius Leong (Singapore). In a change from recent Olympiads, the number of rounds of the Swiss system were reduced from 13 to 11 with accelerated pairings. The Women's Chess Olympiad is an event held by FIDE (the International Chess Federation) since 1957 (every two years since 1972), where national women's teams compete at chess for gold, silver and bronze medals. Since 1976 the Women's Chess Olympiad has been incorporated within Chess Olympiad events, with simultaneous women's and open tournaments. The Soviet Union has won it the most often: 11 times.
