Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Markus Barth (badminton)
Markus Barth (6 October 1915 – 1 July 1994) was a Swiss scholar of theology. He lived in Bern, Basel, Berlin, and Edinburgh and was the son of the seminal Protestant theologian Karl Barth. From 1940 to 1953 he was a Reformed Pastor in Bubendorf near Basel. In 1947 he received a doctorate in New Testament from the University of Göttingen. Between 1953 and 1972 he held professorships in New Testament at Dubuque Theological Seminary, University of Chicago Divinity School, and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. From 1973 to 1985 he was professor of New Testament at the University of Basel. His three areas of interest were the sacramental understanding of Baptism and Lord's Supper, the theology of the Pauline Epistles and Jewish-Christian dialogue. Alyssa Ysabel Leonardo (born 15 September 1997) is a Filipino badminton player. Career Leonardo started to enjoy badminton when she was a child by played with others and watched her parents play. At the age of 8, she went from playing for fun to competing in a local tournament. After graduated from the IUF Academy of Bulacan, Leonardo then educated sports management in the De La Salle University, and also taking part in the La Salle badminton team to compete in the national event. Alvin Nitura Morada (born 12 April 1997) is a Filipino badminton player. He was selected for the Filipino badminton squad that competed in the 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships. Christian Bernardo (born 25 July 1998) is a Filipino badminton player. Career In his junior career, he partnered with Alvin Morada and entered the finals of the 2015 Victor Australian Junior International.
