Cameron Peck
Cameron Peck (born July 10, 1991) is an American professional golfer from Olympia, Washington. Biography Peck was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington. Peck won the 2008 U.S. Junior Amateur. He was named the 2008 AJGA and Rolex Junior Player of the Year and was the recipient of the 2009 Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award. He played college golf at Texas A&M University. In May 2015, he won a playoff at the PGA Tour Canada Qualifying School, to earn his card on that tour. Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Timberline High School is a comprehensive public secondary school in Lacey, Washington. Opened in 1970 and part of North Thurston Public Schools, its school colors are green and gold and the mascot is a blazer. Timberline primarily receives students from Komachin Middle School. At one point the school building was also home to the experimental high school, New Century High School. Lacey is a city in Thurston County, Washington, United States. It is a suburb of Olympia with a population of 53,526 at the 2020 census. Lacey is located along Interstate 5 between Olympia and the Nisqually River, which marks the border with Pierce County and Joint Base Lewis–McChord. History Lacey was originally called Woodland after settlers Isaac and Catherine Wood, who claimed land there in 1853. PGA Tour Canada, commonly referred to as the Canadian Tour, is a men's professional golf tour headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Qualifying School
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage. Junior Ryder Cup
The Junior Ryder Cup is a team golf competition between Europe and the United States for junior golfers aged 18 and under. It is based on the men's Ryder Cup and is run by the same organisations, the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe. The 2018 event took place at Golf Disneyland, Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, France on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 September. The United States won 12–11, their sixth successive victory in the event. Format The teams consist of six boys and six girls. From 2008 to 2018 the tournament was played over two days of foursomes, fourball and singles matches. There were three boys' matches and three girls' foursomes matches and six mixed fourball matches on the first day.
