Cameron Hitchcock
Cameron Hitchcock (born 3 July 1990) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Cameron was born on the Eyre Peninsula in the little country town of Elliston, South Australia, and lived there before moving to Adelaide with his family and attended Sacred Heart College, Adelaide. He made his debut for Port in the opening round of the 2010 NAB Cup, impressing with his pace and goal sense. In his first season, Hitchcock was elevated onto the senior list and played in 17 games, kicking 20 goals. He won Port Adelaide's best first-year player award. He was upgraded to the main list for the 2011 season. Hitchcock was delisted at the end of the 2014 season, after a string of shoulder, hamstring, and foot injuries derailed his career. Glenelg Football Club is an Australian rules football team, which plays in the South Australian National Football League. The club is known as the "Tigers" (or the "Bays"), and their home ground is ACH Group Stadium (formerly Glenelg Oval), located in the southern coastal suburb of Glenelg East, South Australia. Club history The inaugural meeting of the Glenelg Football Club was held at the Glenelg Town Hall on Wednesday 10 March 1920, to form a club for players west of South Road to play in the B Grade. Elliston, South Australia
Elliston is a small coastal town in the Australian state of South Australia on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula 169 km northwest of Port Lincoln and 641 km west of Adelaide. The township is located on Waterloo Bay. At the 2006 census, Elliston had a population of 377. History The first inhabitants of the land that is now Elliston were the Nauo. The first recorded exploration of the adjacent coastline was by Matthew Flinders in the vessel from 10–13 February 1802. He named the offshore islands but did not note the presence of Waterloo Bay in his log. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football.
