Cameron Heeps
Cameron Andrew George Heeps (born 27 October 1995) is an Australian speedway rider. Career He began his British career riding for the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in 2011, winning the Knockout Cup. He won the National League Pairs Championship with Lewis Blackbird, held at Mildenhall Stadium, on 22 July 2012. Heeps joined Ipswich Witches in 2012 and has appeared for them during most of the next ten seasons. In between he had spells at Rye House Rockets during the 2016 Premier League speedway season, the Somerset Rebels and Wolverhampton Wolves. In 2019, he had a season with the Edinburgh Monarchs. In 2021 he rode for Ipswich and Kent. In 2022, he rode for the Ipswich Witches in the SGB Premiership 2022 and the Oxford Cheetahs in the SGB Championship 2022. The Cheetahs were returning to action after a 14-year absence from British Speedway. SGB Championship 2023
The 2023 SGB Cab Direct Championship season will be the 76th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Championship. The British Speedway Network (BSN) would stream 35 matches live for the second year running. Summary Nine clubs will compete in the Championship in 2023, with Edinburgh Monarchs remaining in the league despite problems surrounding their home venue. The only change to the league is Leicester Lions, who left for the higher league of the SGB Premiership 2023. The league format will be the same as in 2022, with each team racing against each other twice (home and away), meaning a total of 16 fixtures each during the season. The points system has been revamped and simplified, with teams scoring two points for a win (home or away), with a bonus point scored for an aggregate win.
