Cameron Gliddon
Cameron Richard Gliddon (born 16 August 1989) is an Australian professional basketball player for the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played four years of college basketball for Concordia University before returning to Australia and joining the Cairns Taipans. He went on to win the NBL Rookie of the Year Award in 2012–13, and led the Taipans to the minor premiership in 2014–15. Between 2018 and 2022, he played two seasons for the Brisbane Bullets and two seasons for the South East Melbourne Phoenix. Early life and career Gliddon was born in Perth, Western Australia, and grew up in Bunbury. He attended Bunbury Senior High School and played for the PCYC Bulls in the Bunbury domestic competition. He also represented the Bunbury Slammers at WABL and SBL level. NBL1 West, formerly the State Basketball League (SBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Western Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. 2017 FIBA Asia Cup
The 2017 FIBA Asia Cup (formerly known as the FIBA Asia Championship) was the 29th continental basketball championship in Asia. The tournament was organised by FIBA Asia. It took place from 8 to 20 August 2017, a week earlier from the initial scheduled date, in Lebanon. The Nouhad Nawfal Arena with a capacity of 8,000 seats hosted the tournament's matches. The FIBA Asia Cup (formerly the FIBA Asia Championship and ABC Championship) is an international basketball tournament which takes place every four years between the men's national teams of Asia and Oceania. The men's basketball tournament at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held on the Gold Coast, Australia from April 5 to 15. The basketball competition was held at three venues: Cairns Convention Centre in Cairns, Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre in Townsville for the preliminaries and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast for the finals.
