Cambridgeshire Women Cricket Team
The Cambridgeshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Cambridgeshire. They play their home games across the county, and are captained by Lara Neild. In the Women's County Championship, Cambridgeshire played as a combined team with Huntingdonshire, as Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Women, but since 2014 they have played individually in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, in which they have consistently competed in the lowest tier. They are partnered with the regional side Sunrisers. History 1961-2013: Early History Cambridgeshire Women played their first recorded game in 1961, against Middlesex Women Second XI. Bluntisham
Bluntisham is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 2,003. Bluntisham lies approximately east of Huntingdon. Bluntisham is situated within Huntingdonshire which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. The villages of Earith, Colne, Woodhurst, and Somersham are all close by. The prime meridian passes through the western edge of Bluntisham. Cambridgeshire County Cricket Club
Cambridgeshire County Cricket Club is one of twenty minor county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Cambridgeshire including the Isle of Ely. The original Cambridgeshire club, established in 1844, is classified as a first-class team from 1857 to 1871. The present club, founded in 1891, has always had minor status although it has played List A matches occasionally from 1964 until 2004 but is not classified as a List A team ''per se''. The club is based at The Avenue Sports Club Ground, March, though they have played a number of matches at Fenner's, Cambridge University's ground, and occasionally play games there still. Elspeth Marinha Compton Fowler (born 14 August 1992) is an English-born cricketer resident in Spain, who plays for the Spanish women's national cricket team as a right-handed batter. In May 2022, she captained Spain in its debut Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) against Austria. Early life and education Born at Northampton, England, she was raised at Chesham, Buckinghamshire. The Essex Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Essex. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Toby Howe Cricket Ground, Billericay and Garon Park, Southend-on-Sea. They are captained by Kelly Castle. Jessica Grace Olorenshaw (born 27 January 2005) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Essex, Cambridgeshire and Sunrisers. She plays as a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper. Domestic career Olorenshaw made her county debut in 2021, for Essex against Surrey in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. She played four matches for the side in 2021. She played two matches for the side in the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, and scored 42 * from 21 balls against Cambridgeshire. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
