Cambalache Bridge
Cambalache Bridge or is a bridge built in 1893 which spans the Río Grande de Arecibo from Cambalache, Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Cambalache barrio to Tanamá, Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Tanamá barrio in Arecibo. It is located 100 meters west of Puerto Rico Highway 2, at kilometer 72. Like all bridges of the , the steel to build it was imported from France. The train section from San Juan to Arecibo was completed in 1891, but it was not until 1893 that the Cambalache Bridge, spanning the river, was completed. Before the opening of the Cambalache Bridge, the train ended at Cambalache and passengers and cargo had to cross a temporary wooden bridge on horse or by ox cart. The construction of the Cambalache Bridge, also called the French Bridge, was an important connection for train transport between the cities of the north coast and the estates of Arecibo. Arecibo, Puerto Rico
Arecibo (; ) is a city and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, located north of Utuado and Ciales; east of Hatillo; and west of Barceloneta and Florida. Río Grande De Arecibo
The Río Grande de Arecibo (Arecibo River) is a river of Puerto Rico. The headwaters lie in the mountains to the south of Adjuntas. From there it flows north until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean near Arecibo. The tributaries lie along the side of the Cerro de Punta and the Utuado pluton. It flows through the northern, passing along a gorge that is 200 m deep and 800–1,200 m wide. It flows through the middle of Puerto Rico. The tributaries to Río Grande de Arecibo basin are Vacas, Pellejas, Garzas, Saltillo, Cidra, Grande de Jayuya, Caguana, Caonillas, Yunés, Limón, Jauca, Tanamá and Santiago rivers. Puerto Rico Highway 2
Puerto Rico Highway 2 (PR-2) is a road in Puerto Rico that connects the cities of San Juan and Ponce. At 156 miles (230 km) long, it is Puerto Rico's longest singled-signed highway. The road runs counter-clockwise from San Juan to Ponce. PR-2 runs parallel to the northern coast of Puerto Rico (west of San Juan), then parallel to the west coast from near Aguadilla running south through Mayagüez. Shortly after Mayagüez, the road runs somewhat inland (through Hormigueros, San Germán and Sabana Grande) until it reaches the southern coast of Puerto Rico at Yauco, and continues to run parallel the southern shore as it approaches Ponce from the west.
