Cam Zink
Cameron "Cam" Zink (born March 8, 1986) is an American professional freeride mountain bike rider and X Games athlete. Personal life Zink is from Carson City, Nevada. He started mountain biking at age 9 and when he was 16 won the junior national championship in dual slalom. He was signed by the Santa Cruz Syndicate team when he was 17. Until he was 20, he continued to race while also competing in Slopestyle. Career In 2009 Zink founded Sensus, a company that manufactures bike grips. In 2010 he won Red Bull Rampage and was awarded best trick for an almost 40-foot 360 drop, and also won the FMB World Tour season title. In 2013 he won best trick for a 78-foot backflip, after having been forbidden by a doctor to ride. In 2013 he finished 4th Overall in Munich X-Games Slopestyle event. Aptos
Aptos (Ohlone for "The People") is an unincorporated town in Santa Cruz County, California. The town is made up of several small villages, which together form Aptos: Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley, Aptos Village, Cabrillo, Seacliff, Rio del Mar, and Seascape. Together, they have a combined population of 24,402. History Aptos was traditionally inhabited by the Awaswas tribe of Ohlone people. The name is one of only three native words that have survived (in Hispanicized form) as place names in Santa Cruz County (the others are Soquel and Zayante). The first European land exploration of Alta California, the Spanish Portolá expedition, passed through the area on its way north, camping at one of the creeks on October 16, 1769. The expedition diaries don't provide enough information to be sure which creek it was, but the direction of travel was northwest, parallel to the coast. Crankworx
Crankworx is a four-stop tour of mountain biking competitions and races, the premier event of which is held each summer at Whistler-Blackcomb in Whistler, British Columbia at Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The Crankworx core competitive events are downhill mountain biking, Slopestyle, Dual Slalom, and Pump Track. Other events unique to the festival include: Best Whip, Air DH & Kidsworx.
