Calumet Township is one of eleven Township (United States), townships in Lake County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 104,258 and it contained 49,554 housing units. Calumet Township was established in 1883. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 89.33%) is land and (or 10.65%) is water. Gary Community School Corporation serves most students who reside in Gary, Indiana. History In 2017, Gary Community Corp became the first school system in Indiana involved in a state takeover. Griffith is a town in the Calumet and St. John townships in Lake County, Indiana, United States. It is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The population was 16,331 in 2021.
