"Calm Down" is a song by Nigerian singer Rema, from his debut studio album '' Rave & Roses'' (2022). It was released on 11 February 2022, through Jonzing World and Mavin as the album's second single. The song charted across Europe, reaching number one on the Belgian Ultratop 50, Dutch Top 40 and Dutch Single Top 100. A remix of the song with American singer Selena Gomez was released on 25 August 2022. The new version reached number one on both the ''Billboard'' US Afrobeats Songs and the ''Billboard'' Global Excl. US charts, and peaked at number three on the Global 200 chart. It peaked at number eight on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, marking Rema's first top-ten hit and Gomez's ninth. Rema (musician)
Divine Ikubor (born 1 May 2000) professionally known by his stage name Rema, is a Nigerian singer, musician, and rapper. He rose to stardom with the release of the song "Dumebi". In 2019, he later signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. Early life Divine Ikubor was born into a Christian family in Benin City. He grew up singing and rapping while he was in secondary school. He attended his primary and secondary school education at Ighile Group of Schools, Edo State. He lost his father and elder brother but still takes good care of his mother. Career He started his music career in churches. In 2018, Rema posted a viral freestyle on Instagram to D'Prince's track "Gucci Gang". The post caught the attention of D'Prince who flew him to Lagos to offer a record deal to the young talent.
