Call Me A Cabbie
''Call Me a Cabbie'' is a reality show where three celebrities have to learn all the skills needed to be a black cab driver in two months. Series one The first series originally aired from July to September 2006. The celebrities featured were Jeff Brazier, Carol Thatcher and Janet Street-Porter. Each week the group would learn new skills such as completing manoeuvres in their cabs, map reading and driving difficult passengers to destinations around London. At the end of the series the celebrities had to face both a written and a practical test to see if they had the required skills to become a cabbie. This seven part series was originally produced for ITV London and was repeated on Sky3. Series two The second series first aired on ITV London on 22 July 2007. Black Cab
A hackney or hackney carriage (also called a cab, black cab, hack or London taxi) is a carriage or car for hire. A hackney of a more expensive or high class was called a remise. A symbol of London and Britain, the black taxi is a common sight on the streets of the UK. The hackney carriages carry a roof sign TAXI that can be illuminated at night to indicate their availability for passengers. Jeff Brazier
Jeffrey Carl Brazier (born 27 May 1979) is an English television personality and presenter. Early life and education Brazier was brought up in Tiptree, near Colchester in Essex, and attended Thurstable School, a mixed state comprehensive school in his home town. Career Television In 2001, Brazier took part in the Channel 4 reality television show '' Shipwrecked'', in which he and fifteen other people had to stay on a tropical island without any creature comforts. Carol Thatcher
Carol Jane Thatcher (born 15 August 1953) is an English journalist, author and media personality. She is the daughter of Margaret Thatcher, the British prime minister from 1979 to 1990, and Denis Thatcher. She has written biographies of both her parents and also produced a documentary about her father which contained his only public interview. She won the fifth series of the reality show '' I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'' Janet Vera Street-Porter (''née'' Bull; born 27 December 1946) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and media personality. She began her career as a fashion writer and columnist at the ''Daily Mail'' and was later appointed fashion editor of the ''Evening Standard'' in 1971. In 1973, she co-presented a mid-morning radio show with Paul Callan on LBC. A taxi, also known as a taxicab or simply a cab, is a type of vehicle for hire with a driver, used by a single passenger or small group of passengers, often for a non-shared ride. A taxicab conveys passengers between locations of their choice. Life TV Media was an independent UK broadcaster who produced television content for its own channels and other broadcasters.
