Calgary Callies
The Calgary Caledonian Football Club, better known as the Calgary Callies, is a Canadian association football, soccer club which currently plays in the Alberta Major Soccer League. History This club was founded on April 26, 1904. Over the years they have become a dominant club in Alberta and Canadian soccer. In 2007, the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame inducted the Calgary Caledonians from 1907 as a team of distinction. Calgary Caledonians were unofficial champions of Canada in 1907, 1908 and 1909 winning the People's Shield in each of those years. They won the championship of Western Canada in 1906 by beating Minnedosa 2–0 in Manitoba. The Callies great run in the People's Shield began in 1907, a year in which they dominated the Calgary League, winning 14 of the 16 games played with two being drawn. Alberta Major Soccer League
The Alberta Major Soccer League (AMSL) is the highest level of amateur soccer in Alberta. It is roughly level 4 on the Canadian soccer league system, Canadian soccer pyramid although levels below 3 are not formally designated by the Canadian Soccer Association. The champions of the League Cup, renamed the Mike Traficante Challenge Cup in 2008, go on to compete in the national senior men's and women's championships. Overview Founded in 1991, the AMSL consists of two divisions, the Men's Division of eight teams and the Women's Division of eight (the Women's Division was added in 1992). Canadian Soccer Hall Of Fame
The Canada Soccer Hall of Fame honours people and institutions for their contributions to Canadian soccer. It was founded in 1997 by the Ontario Soccer Association and was originally located in Vaughan, Ontario. As of 2019, the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame has inducted 114 players, 13 managers/coaches, 10 officials, and 40 builders as honoured members. Additionally, the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame has recognized 13 teams of distinction and seven organizations of distinction. Canadian National Challenge Cup
The Challenge Trophy (french: Trophée Challenge) is a national amateur soccer cup in Canada contested by the champions of individual provincial soccer competitions. It is one of the oldest soccer competitions in Canada, being held since 1913. It is run by the Canadian Soccer Association. Chris Kooy
Christopher John Kooy (June 11, 1982 – August 21, 2020) was a Canadian soccer player who played for FC Edmonton in the North American Soccer League. Career Professional In 2004, Kooy played a championship season with Mount Royal College (Voted ACIC All Canadian) and the Calgary Mustangs in the old USL First Division.
