Cale Parks
Michael Cale Parks, otherwise known as Cale Parks, is best known for his role as the multi-faceted drummer, percussionist, pianist and vibraphonist of the indie band Aloha on Polyvinyl Records. In the summer of 2006, Cale Parks released his first full-length album, Illuminated Manuscript, on Japan's Stiff Slack Records and in the US on Polyvinyl Records. The record was recorded on borrowed four-tracks and computers in various locations in the midwest. In 2007–2008, Cale joined Brooklyn-based band White Williams as their drummer. And at the end of 2009, BRAHMS, a three-man Coldwave band composed of Parks, Eric Lyle Lodwick and Drew Montag Robinson was formed. With only four demos under their belts, already critics named the band as one to look out for. Vibraphonist
The vibraphone is a percussion instrument in the metallophone family. It consists of tuned metal bars and is typically played by using mallets to strike the bars. A person who plays the vibraphone is called a ''vibraphonist,'' ''vibraharpist,'' or ''vibist''. The vibraphone resembles the steel marimba, which it superseded. One of the main differences between the vibraphone and other keyboard percussion instruments is that each bar suspends over a resonator tube containing a flat metal disc. These discs are attached together by a common axle and spin when the motor is turned on. This causes the instrument to produce its namesake tremolo or vibrato effect. The vibraphone also has a sustain pedal similar to a piano. When the pedal is up, the bars produce a muted sound; when the pedal is down, the bars sustain for several seconds or until again muted with the pedal. Tanlines is an American electronic music and indie rock duo from Brooklyn, New York composed of percussionist Jesse Cohen and guitarist and vocalist Eric Emm. Their influence is drawn from various genres including pop, indie, dance and world music. An illuminated manuscript is a formally prepared document where the text is often supplemented with flourishes such as borders and miniature illustrations. Paradis is a French electronic music duo consisting of Simon Mény and Pierre Rousseau. The duo was latest signed to Universal label Barclay. They grew to fame after releasing their first 12" single on Beats In Space titled '' Parfait Tirage'' featuring a cover of Alain Souchon's "La Ballade de Jim". The duo have appeared on the French DJ scene with sets at Nuits Sonores and Rex Club. Early years Simon Mény and Pierre Rousseau met through friends in Paris.
