Calculator (character)
Calculator (Noah Kuttler) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Originally introduced as an enemy of the Atom (Ray Palmer), Atom, the character was later redeveloped in the 2000s as a master information broker, hacker, and tactical supervisor to other supervillains, and foil (narrative), foil to Batman's partner Barbara Gordon, Oracle. The Calculator appeared as a recurring character on The CW's Arrowverse series ''Arrow (TV series), Arrow'', portrayed by Tom Amandes. Publication history Calculator first appeared in ''Detective Comics'' #463 (September 1976), and he was created by Bob Rozakis and Mike Grell. As is commonplace in comics, the character was based on a topical event or trend; in this case, Noah Kuttler took his powers and costume design from the recently popular pocket calculator. Tom Amandes
Tom Amandes (born March 9, 1959) is an American actor. His best-known role to date is that of Eliot Ness in the 1990s television series ''The Untouchables''; he also played Geena Davis' boyfriend in ''The Long Kiss Goodnight'', and Abraham Lincoln in the 2013 film ''Saving Lincoln''. Career Amandes was born the sixth of 11 children in Richmond, Illinois. Amandes began acting at an early age, performing at home with his siblings and starring in school productions. He graduated in 1977 from Crystal Lake Central High School. In 1981, after graduating from the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University, Amandes set out to apprentice on the Chicago stage. A turning point in Amandes' career was being cast as Eliot Ness in the television series ''The Untouchables''. He went on to star in ''The Pursuit of Happiness'' with Brad Garrett and Larry Miller. Blue Beetle
Blue Beetle is the name of three fictional superheroes who appear in a number of American comic books published by a variety of companies since 1939. The most recent of the companies to own rights to Blue Beetle is DC Comics, which bought the rights to the character in 1983, using the name for three distinct characters over the years. The original Blue Beetle was created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski and Fox Comics and later owned by Charlton Comics. The first Beetle was Dan Garret (later spelled Dan Garrett), who initially gained superpowers from a special vitamin, which was later changed to gaining powers from a "sacred scarab".
