Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners Baseball
The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team represents California State University, Bakersfield in the NCAA Division I college baseball. Cal State Bakersfield plays its home games on Hardt Field on the campus of California State University, Bakersfield in Bakersfield, California. The Roadrunners have played in one NCAA Tournament. Over their eight seasons in the Western Athletic Conference, they have won one WAC regular season title and one WAC tournament. The Roadrunners compete in the Big West Conference and are led by head coach Jeremy Beard. Since the program's inception in 2009, two Roadrunners have gone on to play in Major League Baseball, relief pitcher Austin Davis, and knuckleball pitcher Mickey Jannis. Over the program's 12 seasons, 20 Roadrunners have been drafted, including Darius Vines who was selected in the seventh round of the 2019. Jeremy Beard
Jeremy Beard is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners baseball, Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners. He played college baseball at Linn–Benton Community College from 1992 to 1993 before transferring to Oregon State Beavers baseball, Oregon State where he played for coach Pat Casey (baseball), Pat Casey. Playing career Beard attended North Salem High School (Salem, Oregon), North Salem High School in Salem, Oregon for his first three years of high school. He transferred to Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon for his season year. Upon graduation from high school, Beard enrolled at Linn–Benton Community College. Beard walked-on to the Linn–Benton baseball team and then walked-on to the Oregon State Beavers baseball program. Beard was 9–3 with a 3.62 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 82 innings. Bob Macaluso
Robert Peter Macaluso Jr. (born April 16, 1964) is an American college baseball coach who is currently an assistant coach at the Pacific Tigers baseball, University of the Pacific. Early life and education Born in Reading, Massachusetts, Macaluso played college baseball at Springfield Pride baseball, Springfield College and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He later completed a master's degree in physical education at Springfield in 1998. Coaching career Macaluso was pitching coach at Melrose High School (Massachusetts), Melrose High School in Melrose, Massachusetts from 1989 to 1992 and head varsity coach at Weston High School (Massachusetts), Weston High School in Weston, Massachusetts from 1993 to 1996.
