''Cak!'' is a 1982 live comedy album by Alexei Sayle. This was his first album, although he had contributed previously to The Comic Strip's compilation album from 1981. The album consists of spoken word segments and songs. "Song for Len" is about Leonard Cohen. Alexei Sayle
Alexei David Sayle (born 7 August 1952) is an English actor, author, stand-up comedian, television presenter and former recording artist. He was a leading figure in the British alternative comedy movement in the 1980s. He was voted the 18th greatest stand-up comic of all time on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-ups in 2007. In an updated 2010 poll he came 72nd. Much of Sayle's humour is in the tradition of Spike Milligan and Monty Python, with riffs based on often absurd and surreal premises. His act is known for its cynicism and political awareness, as well as physical comedy. Early life Sayle was born and brought up in the Anfield suburb of Liverpool, the son of Molly (Malka) Sayle (née Mendelson), a pools clerk, and Joseph Henry Sayle, a railway guard, both of whom were members of the Communist Party of Great Britain. ''The Fish People Tapes'' is a 1984 comedy album by Alexei Sayle. Subtitled "an Alexei Sayle mystery", the album comprises an episodic detective Serial (radio and television), serial plus occasional musical interludes. This is his second album. The album is based on ''Alexei Sayle and the Fish People'', an award-winning radio series originally broadcast by 95.8 Capital FM in 1981. Although the radio series was originally broadcast in the London area, the album includes faked disc jockey, DJ links that suggest the show is being broadcast in the fictitious new town of Milton Springsteen, the name being an amalgamation of Milton Keynes and Bruce Springsteen. "Ullo John! Gotta New Motor?" is a song written by British comedian Alexei Sayle, originally released as a single in the UK in 1982. The single eventually achieved UK Top Twenty success in 1984, following a reissue. The song and its title have subsequently been adapted and reused in a number of different cultural contexts.
