Caitlan Johnston (born 12 January 2001) is an Australian rugby league footballer who plays for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL Women's Premiership. Primarily a er, she previously played for the Sydney Roosters and has represented the Indigenous All Stars and Prime Minister's XIII. Background Born in Belmont, New South Wales, Johnston is of Indigenous Australian descent and began playing rugby league for Windale at age 11. Playing career In 2018 and 2019, Johnston played for the Newcastle Knights in the Tarsha Gale Cup, captaining the side in 2019. On 15 February 2019, she started at for the Indigenous All Stars in their 4–8 loss to the Maori All Stars. Belmont, New South Wales
Belmont is a suburb in Greater Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, located from Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie and is part of the City of Lake Macquarie council. The Central Coast Roosters, formerly Central Coast Centurions, are an Australian rugby league football club (previously known as the Rip or Storm) based in the Central Coast region in New South Wales. They competed in the New South Wales Cup which they exited in 2011. The club still competes in the NSWRL Women's Premiership, S. G. Ball Cup and Harold Matthews Cup competitions. The Newcastle Knights are a team that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership. The 2022 NRLW Premiership was the fifth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season started on Saturday, 20 August and ran for seven weekends. This comprised five rounds, semi-finals for the top four teams, and a Grand Final that was played on Sunday 2 October as a curtain raiser to the 2022 men's Grand Final. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). The 2021 NRLW premiership was the fourth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season was planned to start in August 2021, postponed to October 2021 and further postponed to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was held from February to April 2022, with the 2022 NRL Women's season later commencing in August 2022.
