Benedetto Cairoli
Benedetto Cairoli (28 January 1825 – 8 August 1889) was an Italian politician. Biography Cairoli was born at Pavia, Lombardy. From 1848 until the completion of Italian unity in 1870, his whole activity was devoted to the ''Risorgimento'', as Garibaldian officer, political refugee, anti-Austrian conspirator and deputy to parliament. He commanded a volunteer company under Garibaldi in 1859 and 1860, being wounded slightly at Calatafimi and severely at Palermo in the latter year. In 1866, with the rank of colonel, he assisted Garibaldi in the campaign in the County of Tyrol, in 1867 fought at Mentana, and in 1870 conducted the negotiations with Bismarck, during which the German chancellor is alleged to have promised Italy possession of Rome and of her natural frontiers if the Democratic party could prevent an alliance between Victor Emmanuel and Napoleon. Enrico Pessina
Enrico Pessina ( Naples, 17 October 1828 – Naples, 24 September 1916) was an Italian jurist, philosopher and politician. He was senator of the Kingdom of Italy in the XIII legislature. Biography He completed both legal and philosophical studies at the University of Naples. He was a student of the Calabrian philosopher Pasquale Galluppi, for whom he edited the posthumous edition of the "History of Philosophy", a year after his death. A man of liberal ideas, he was an opponent of the Bourbons, taking part in the riots of 1848. The following year he published his Manual of Constitutional Law which earned him police persecution and then prison. In 1856 he married Giulia Settembrini, daughter of Luigi Settembrini, at the time of the marriage secluded on Santo Stefano Island. In 1860 Pessina fled the Kingdom and resided in Livorno, only to be appointed professor of law at the University of Bologna the following year. Benedetto Brin (17 May 1833 in Turin, Piedmont24 May 1898 in Rome, Lazio) was an Italian naval administrator and politician. He played a major role in modernizing and expanding the Italian (Royal Navy) from the 1870s to the 1890s, designing several major classes of warships, including the large ironclad warships of the , , and es, the pre-dreadnought battleships of the and es, and the armored cruisers of the and es. Enrico Di Brocchetti, Baron (Naples, 8 November 1817 – Torre del Greco, 18 November 1885) was an Italian admiral and politician, Senator of the Kingdom of Italy, and Minister of the Navy in the first Cairoli government. Early life Enrico was the son of Baron :it:Giuseppe Di Bronchetti, Minister of War of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and his wife Elisabetta Baccuet.
