Café Bossa
''Café Bossa'' is the debut album by Filipino people, Filipino bossa nova singer Sitti Navarro, Sitti. It was released on January 25, 2006 by Warner Music Group, Warner Music Philippines. The album spawned four successful singles—"Tattooed on My Mind", "Hey Look at the Sun", "I Didn't Know I Was Looking for Love" and "Para sa Akin". The album was certified double platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry on September 17, 2006, denoting over 60,000 units sold in the country. A limited edition of the album was released in February 2007, containing a bonus video CD and a different cover. The video CD includes her official music videos from the album and her MTV Philippines, MTV Sessions Live performance. John Carl Hendricks (September 16, 1921 – November 22, 2017), known professionally as Jon Hendricks, was an American jazz lyricist and singer. He is one of the originators of vocalese, which adds lyrics to existing instrumental songs and replaces many instruments with vocalists, such as the big-band arrangements of Duke Ellington and Count Basie. He is considered one of the best practitioners of scat singing, which involves vocal jazz soloing. Jazz critic and historian Leonard Feather called him the "Poet Laureate of Jazz", while ''Time'' dubbed him the "James Joyce of Jive". One Note Samba
"Samba de uma Nota Só", known in English as "One Note Samba", is a bossa nova and jazz standard song composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim with Portuguese lyrics by Newton Mendonça. The English lyrics were written by Jon Hendricks. It was first recorded by João Gilberto in 1960 for his album ''O Amor, o Sorriso e a Flor''. The song title refers to the main melody line, which at first consists of a long series of notes of a single tone (typically D, as played in the key of G) played over a descending chord progression in a bossa nova rhythm. The first eight measures consist of D, followed by four measures of G, and then four measures of D. This is followed by eight measures of a more conventional, scalar melody line. Julia Fordham (born 10 August 1962) is a British singer-songwriter. Her professional career started in the early 1980s, under the name "Jules Fordham", as a backing singer for Mari Wilson and Kim Wilde, before signing a recording contract of her own later that decade. Tracey Anne Thorn (born 26 September 1962) is a British singer. She is best known as being one half of the duo Everything but the Girl from 1982 to 1999. She was a member of the band Marine Girls between 1980 and 1983 and since 2007 has been active as a solo artist. D'Sound (stylized as d'sound) is a Norwegian neo soul band based in Oslo, Norway.
