Cabinet Of Papua New Guinea
The National Executive Council (NEC), also known as the Cabinet of Papua New Guinea functions as the policy and decision-making body of the executive branch within the government system of Papua New Guinea. The Prime Minister and Ministers serve as members of the Cabinet. NEC building Sir Manasupe Haus (House) is the building that hosts the Department of the Prime Minister and the National Executive Council. Formerly known as Marea House, fondly referred to as the “Pineapple Building” due to its shape, it is named after Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc, a former Chief Secretary of PNG. It was renamed and reopened on 27 January 2016 after being closed for renovations funded by Oil Search. Coat Of Arms Of Papua New Guinea
The national emblem of Papua New Guinea consists of a bird-of-paradise over a traditional spear and a '' kundu'' drum. Designed by Hal Holman, an Australian artist working for the Papuan government, Holman was also involved in the design of the National flag. Both the emblem and the flag was accepted by the House of Assembly of Papua and New Guinea and signed into law as the ''National Identity Ordinance'' by the Administrator Sir Leslie Johnson on 24 June 1971. The ordinance came into effect after its publication in the Papua New Guinea Gazette of 1 July 1971. Bryan Jared Kramer
Bryan Jared Kramer is a Papua New Guinea politician and Member of the 10th and 11th Parliament of Papua New Guinea. He is also a businessman and social media strategist known for his Facebook page, The Kramer Report. Formerly a member of the Pangu Party, he founded the Allegiance Party, of which he is the sole MP, in 2018. He ran nine candidates in the 2022 National Elections, including one in each of Madang's seven electorates. Kramer was returned with a sizeable majority, but was unsuccessful in securing the election of another Party member. He was suspended from office on 30 September 2022 pending the outcomes of a leadership tribunal. People's Party (Papua New Guinea)
The People's Party is a political party in Papua New Guinea. It was founded in 2006 by Peter Ipatas, governor of Enga Province, following his resignation from the Papua New Guinea Party. The party won three seats at the 2007 election: Ipatas, Sailon Beseo (Kainantu Open) and Samson Kuli (Usino-Bundi). The party then supported Michael Somare for Prime Minister. It gained an additional MP in August 2010, when newly elected Wewak Open MP Dr Moses Manwau joined the party. During the attempts to topple Somare's government in his absence in 2011, the party strongly supported his designated Acting Prime Minister, Sam Abal. Wake Goi (born 6 October 1968) is a Papua New Guinea politician. He was a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea from 2007 to 2012, representing the electorate of Jimi Open. Timothy Masiu (born 25 November 1964) is a Papua New Guinean politician. He has been a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea since July 2016, representing the electorate of South Bougainville Open for the People's Progress Party (2016–2017) and National Alliance Party (2017–present). Masiu, from Botulai village, was a journalist and broadcaster before entering politics, working for the National Broadcasting Corporation from 1981 with Radio Bougainville, Radio Enga and Radio East New Britain. Melanesian Liberal Party
The Melanesian Liberal Party is a political party in Papua New Guinea. The party won 2 out of 109 seats in the 2007 General Election. Following the 2007 Election, it initially supported Prime Minister Michael Somare's government, as Party leader Allan Marat was appointed Attorney-General and Justice Minister. In May 2010, however, Marat publicly criticised aspects of government policy, and resigned upon being asked to do so by the Prime Minister. He informed Somare that the MLP would no longer be supporting the government. It returned two MPs at the 2012 General Election: Rabaul Open MP Marat and Gazelle Open MP Malakai Tabar. John Pundari
Sir John Pundari (born 7 January 1967) is a Papua New Guinean politician. He has been Speaker of the National Parliament (1997–1999), Deputy Prime Minister (1999), Minister for Foreign Affairs (2001), and currently serving as the Minister of Finance and Rural Development since 20 December 2020. First elected to Parliament in the 1992 general election, as MP for Kompiam-Ambum, he was elected Speaker after retaining his seat in the 1997 election. He founded the Advance Papua New Guinea Party in May 1999, with twenty-two MPs, announcing his intention to challenge for the premiership. He accused Prime Minister Bill Skate's government of persistent political interference in administrative processes, including police investigations, and of a general lack of ethics. Soroi Eoe
Soroi Eoe (born 24 December 1954) is a Papua New Guinea politician. He has been a Member of the Papua New Guinea National Parliament of Papua New Guinea, National Parliament since 2017, representing Kikori District, Kikori Open. On 7 June 2019, he was appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and held the position for five months, and later returned to the same position on December 20, 2020.
