The Cabinet of Brazil ( pt, Gabinete Ministerial do Brasil) is composed of the Ministers of State and senior advisors of the executive branch of the federal government of Brazil. Cabinet officers are appointed and dismissed by the President. There are currently twenty-three Ministries, including six Ministry-level offices: the Chief of Staff, Secretary of Government, General-Secretary of the Presidency, Institutional Security, Attorney General, and President of the Central Bank. Responsibilities Ministers assist the President in the exercise of executive power. Each minister is responsible for the general administration of a government portfolio, and heads the corresponding government ministry. Augusto Heleno Ribeiro Pereira (born 29 October 1947) is a Brazilian politician coup articulator and retired General of the Brazilian Army. He was military commander of the Amazon and Chief of the Department of Science and Technology of the Army.
