Cabin Fever (Rasputina Album)
''Cabin Fever!'' is the third studio album by Rasputina released in 2002 with Instinct Records. It is noteworthy for its use of industrial influences, particularly the distorted cello. Track listing Critical reception Jamie Kiffel, in a review for Lollipop Magazine, said "The smell of death still permeates every track. Yet the sweet stink never gets tiresome, thanks to Rasputina’s uncanny ability to sniff out increasingly bizarre permutations of the subject a la Edward Gorey," and "For all its talk of death, this is a sexy album with gutsy deliveries suggesting that, for all its tiny stillness, the doll in the coffin really does have powers." ''Our Lies'' Around mid 2001, Melora Creager held a contest for the band's mailing list subscribers, asking for fans to send back lies to be used as lyrics for a new song, which became the track ''Our Lies''. Rasputina (band)
Rasputina is an American rock band based in New York City, known for their unconventional music style, as well as their fascination with historical allegories and fashion, especially those pertaining to the Victorian era. The group is fronted by cellist/vocalist Melora Creager, who writes the music and lyrics and creates art for the band's albums, singles, and website. Cello Rock
Cello rock and cello metal are subgenres of rock music characterized by the use of cellos (as well as other bowed string instruments such as the violin and viola) as primary instruments, alongside or in place of more traditional rock instruments such as electric guitars, electric bass guitar, and drum set. Cellos, often in groups of three or more, are used to create a sound, rhythm, and texture similar to that of familiar rock music, but distinctly reshaped by the unique timbres and more traditional genres of the cello (in particular) and other string instruments used. The cellos and other stringed instruments are often amplified and/or modified electronically, and often played in a manner imitative of the sound of electric guitars. They are often combined with other elements typical of rock music such as rock-style vocals and drumming. Cello rock can trace its beginnings back to the 1971 self-titled debut, known in the US as ''No Answer'', by the Electric Light Orchestra which ...

The Lost & Found
''The Lost & Found'' is an EP record by Rasputina, the first edition of which was self-released in 2001 and the second edition, featuring two more cover songs, was released in 2003 by Instinct Records. It consists of covers of songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Marilyn Manson, Pat Benatar, The Velvet Underground, and Led Zeppelin, as well as a rendition of Mother Goose's nursery rhyme "This Little Piggy." The cover art and packaging was designed by artist Ryan Obermeyer. Critical reception Jamie Kiffel, in a review for Lollipop Magazine, said of the album, "While most of these are little more than curious novelties, there are some corpsed and dressed covers here that stand quite stiffly on their own. Melora Creager’s version of “Wish You Were Here,” with its sighing vocals, sad strings, and fuzzed-out bass effect is stunning and could frankly break into the Top 40 if the right stations acknowledge it." AllMusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...

Single (music)
In music, a single is a type of release, typically a song recording of fewer tracks than an LP record or an album. One can be released for sale to the public in a variety of formats. In most cases, a single is a song that is released separately from an album, although it usually also appears on an album. In other cases a recording released as a single may not appear on an album. Despite being referred to as a single, in the era of music downloads, singles can include up to as many as three tracks. The biggest digital music distributor, the iTunes Store, accepts as many as three tracks that are less than ten minutes each as a single. Any more than three tracks on a musical release or thirty minutes in total running time is an extended play (EP) or, if over six tracks long, an album. Historically, when mainstream music was purchased via vinyl records, singles would be released double-sided, i.e. there was an A-side and a B-side, on which two songs would appear, one on each si ...
