CS Constantine
Club Sportif Constantinois ( ar, النادي الرياضي القسنطيني), also known as CS Constantine or simply CSC for short, is an Algerian football club based in Constantine, Algeria. The club was founded in 1898, and its colours are green and black. The footballing club is believed to be the first team founded in Africa by French people. CSC are known as The Smurfs ( ar, السنافر), and nicknamed as The Dean ( ar, العميد .) Their home stadium, Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui, has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Constantine, Algeria. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has an actual capacity of 22,986 people. It serves as the home ground of CS Constantine and MO Constantine. history Two years after the start of its construction in 1971, the largest stadium in Constantine opened its doors on the 11th anniversary of the country's independence, on July 5, 1973. The 2018–19 CAF Champions League (officially the 2018–19 Total CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 55th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 23rd edition under the current CAF Champions League title. The Algerian Super Cup ( ar, كأس الجزائر الممتازة), is an Algerian football competition, held as a game between the reigning champions of the Algerian League and the Algerian Cup. The first edition was held in 1973 and then again in 1981, 1992 and 1995 before being scrapped.
