Clubul Sportiv Municipal Satu Mare, commonly known as CSM Satu Mare, or simply as Satu Mare, is a Romanian football club based in Satu Mare, Satu Mare County, currently playing in the Liga III. This team represents the football section of the multi-sport club CSM Satu Mare, which also include basketball, volleyball and handball sections. CSM Satu Mare was established on 18 July 2007 and is fully supported by the Municipality of Satu Mare. The football section of CSM was established only in 2018, after the second dissolution of Olimpia Satu Mare and was enrolled in the Liga IV Satu Mare. Despite the promotion obtained in 2019, CSM was not accepted in the Liga III by the Romanian Football Federation, after a late payment of the financial guarantee for participation in the 2019–20 Liga III season. Stadionul Daniel Prodan
Stadionul Daniel Prodan is a multi-use stadium located in Satu Mare, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of CSM Satu Mare. For almost all its existence, the stadium was the home ground of Olimpia Satu Mare. The stadium holds 18,000 people, but only 1,500 on seats and it can also host athletics competitions due to the clay track that surrounds the pitch. It is the 11th stadium in the country by capacity. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. 2019–20 Liga IV Satu Mare
The 2019–20 Liga IV Satu Mare was the 52nd season of Liga IV Satu Mare, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 23 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. On 2 June 2020, AJF Satu Mare (County Football Association) announced that a promotion play-off tournament between the first 2 ranked teams in each zones will be played to decide the county champion and the team that will qualify for the promotion play-off to Liga III. The season was ended officially on 24 July 2020 when AJF Satu Mare concluded that the teams cannot comply with the conditions imposed by the medical protocol and decided to declare Satu Mare the county champion and the team that qualify at the promotion play-off. Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia D into Liga IV before the start of play for the 2006–07 season. Current format Liga IV has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away.
