COVID Recovery Group
The COVID Recovery Group (CRG) is an informal group of Conservative MPs in the United Kingdom who opposed the UK government's decision to introduce a second period of lockdown measures for England during the COVID-19 pandemic, and who voted against the restrictions. The group is Chaired by Mark Harper, a former Chief Whip, with Steve Baker as Deputy Chair. History Formation Established on 10 November 2020, the group's aim is to challenge the use of blanket lockdown measures, and argue for a different approach to dealing with the pandemic. The group was reported to have been formed by fifty MPs, but as of 11 November was reportedly composed of seventy MPs. Mark Harper
Mark James Harper (born 26 February 1970) is a British politician who has served as Secretary of State for Transport since 2022. A member of the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party, he has been Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) for Forest of Dean (UK Parliament constituency), Forest of Dean since 2005 United Kingdom general election, 2005. The World Council for Health is a pseudo-medical organisation dedicated to spreading misinformation to discourage COVID-19 vaccination, and promoting fake COVID-19 treatments. The organization's online appearance is that of a mainstream health organization.. It appears to have been formed in September 2021 and its published leadership contains people which an Australian Associated Press fact check described as "figures who have promoted unfounded conspiracy theories". The group was founded by Jennifer A. Hibberd and Tess Lawrie, an obstetrician and founder of the "BIRD Group", which erroneously promotes ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment. The Health Advisory and Recovery Team (also HART or HART Group) is a British pressure group opposed to COVID-19 mitigation measures and COVID-19 vaccines. History and activities The group was formed in January 2021. It describes itself as aiming to "provide relevant scientific evidence in accessible forms, for a variety of audiences". An article in the ''Daily Dot'' said that the bland self-description was a "façade" and that group members were engaged with COVID-19 conspiracy theories: transcripts of chat sessions between members obtained by DDoSecrets entertained the notion that the COVID-19 pandemic might have been planned, and contained exchanges about Bill Gates, George Soros, and The Great Reset. Steven John Baker (born 6 June 1971) is a British politician serving as Minister of State for Northern Ireland since 2022. NHS Test and Trace is a government-funded service in England, established in 2020 to track and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
