''COVERguy'' is a six-part Canadian television series created and produced by Giant Productions, hosted by Mathieu Chantelois broadcast on OUTtv in 2005. Thirty aspiring male models compete for $1000 cash, a fashion photoshoot, a one-year membership to Goodlife Fitness Club and the front cover of ''abOUT'' magazine. Chantelois is accompanied by celebrity stylist Maha Rishi. Series Series One and Two were shot on location at Lüb Lounge, owned by one of the show's creators, in downtown Toronto. The show was co-produced by Giant Productions. Season Two premiered Sunday, October 1, 2006. The winner was Gerry King, a dancer who also won the Montreal-based Priape clothing model search in spring 2007. In Season Three, the location was changed to the Gladstone Hotel in the Queen Street West neighbourhood in Toronto. Luka Magnotta
In May 2012, Jun Lin (December 30, 1978 – May 24/25, 2012), a university student, was fatally stabbed and dismembered in Montreal, Canada, by Luka Rocco Magnotta, who then mailed Lin's hands and feet to elementary schools and federal political party offices. After a video depicting the murder was posted online, Magnotta fled Canada, becoming the subject of an Interpol Red Notice and prompting an international manhunt. In June 2012, he was arrested in an internet café in Berlin. In December 2014, after eight days of deliberations, a jury convicted him of first-degree murder. Magnotta was given a mandatory life sentence and 19 years for other charges, to be served concurrently. Mathieu Chantelois (born July 4, 1973) is a Canadian television personality, journalist, magazine editor, and marketing executive. Early life and education Mathieu Chantelois was born and raised in Mascouche, a suburb just outside Montreal, Quebec. He studied at Pierre Laporte Secondary School, a musical academy in Montreal. He is a graduate of Carleton University's journalism program, and in 2018, he completed a certificate in strategic perspectives in nonprofit management at Harvard Business School. Nina Arsenault (born January 20, 1974) is a Canadian performance artist, freelance writer, and former sex worker who works in theatre, dance, video, photography and visual art. Early life Arsenault grew up in a trailer park in Beamsville, Ontario. She has two master's degrees. At one point prior to her transition, Arsenault was an instructor at York University, where she taught acting. She has said she realized that she was a trans woman in August 1996 and her transition was in full force around 1998. OutTV (stylized as OUTtv) is a Netherlands-based television channel which can be viewed via cable television/digital television as a premium channel in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Israel and Spain.
