Carl Edward Richard Cort (born 1 November 1977) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. He played for Wimbledon, Lincoln City, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Spanish club UD Marbella and Norwich City, Brentford, and North American Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies. John Cort (impresario)
John Cort (ca. 1861 – November 17, 1929) was an American impresario; his Cort Circuit was one of the first national theater circuits. Along with John Considine and Alexander Pantages, Cort was one of the Seattle-based entrepreneurs who parlayed their success in the years following the Klondike Gold Rush into an impact on America's national theater scene. While Considine and Pantages focused mainly on vaudeville, Cort focused on legitimate theater. At one time, he owned more legitimate theaters than anyone else in the United States, and he eventually became part of the New York theatrical establishment. John Cyrus Cort (1913–2006) was an American Christian socialist writer and activist. He was the co-chair of the Religion and Socialism Commission of the Democratic Socialists of America. He was based in metropolitan Boston, Massachusetts. He fathered 10 children with his wife, Helen Haye Cort, and he cantored in his local parish until his death. Biography John Cyrus Cort was born in Woodmere, New York, on December 3, 1913, to Ambrose Cort, a school teacher, and Lydia (Painter) Cort. Walter Edward Cox, known professionally as Bud Cort, is an American actor and comedian, known for his portrayals of Harold in Hal Ashby's film ''Harold and Maude'' (1971) and the eponymous hero in Robert Altman's film ''Brewster McCloud'' (1970). Career Cort was discovered in a revue by director Robert Altman, who subsequently cast him in two of his movies, ''M*A*S*H'' and ''Brewster McCloud'', in which he played the title role. Cort went on to his best-known role as the suicide-obsessed Harold in ''Harold and Maude''. Though it was not particularly successful on release, it gained international cult status and is now considered an American classic. Henry Cort (c. 1740 – 23 May 1800) was an English ironware producer although formerly a Navy pay agent. During the Industrial Revolution in England, Cort began refining iron from pig iron to wrought iron (or bar iron) using innovative production systems. In 1784, he patented an improved version of the Puddling (metallurgy), puddling process for refining cast iron although its commercial viability was only accomplished by innovations introduced by the Merthyr Tydfil ironmasters Crawshay and Homfray. Biography Little is known of Cort's early life other than that he was possibly born into a family coming from Lancaster, Lancashire, Lancaster, England although his parents are unknown. Leon Terence Anthony Cort (born 11 September 1979) is a former footballer who played as a defender. He is the younger brother of Carl Cort and the older half-brother of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Cort began his career as at non-league side Dulwich Hamlet before turning professional with Millwall in 1998. He was unable to break into the first team at the New Den and after loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and Stevenage Borough he left for Southend United. His career took off at Roots Hall and in 2004 he earned a move to Hull City. He helped the Tigers gain promotion to the Championship in 2004–05. He joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2006 before joining Stoke City in October 2007 in a swap deal with Clint Hill.
