CN Sportplex
The CN Sportplex is a large recreational facility located in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. It consists of ten baseball fields, six soccer fields, and four indoor ice rinks, including the Superior Propane Centre. Also on site is the Dundee Sports Dome, a large air supported structure which offers paintball, golf, soccer and football. History The facility is located on of land which, up until their closure in 1988, was home to a large Canadian National Railway repair facility. After the closure of the shops the lot was a vacant brownfield site until 1997, when its owner, Canada Lands Company, decided it was time to develop the site into something more useful to the community. This was the beginning of a massive cleanup operation to transform the site into an award-winning recreation facility. Superior Propane Centre
The Superior Propane Centre is a multi-purpose arena in Moncton, New Brunswick which opened on November 8, 2003, with four NHL-sized ice surfaces, one of which (the Champions Arena) has seating for 1,500 spectators. It was home to the Moncton Beavers of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League until 2007 when they moved to Dieppe and became the Dieppe Commandos. It is the home of the Moncton Mariposa Figure Skating Club, the Moncton Minor Hockey Association the Moncton Ringette Association and Lacrosse Moncton. Paintball
Paintball is a competitive team shooting sport in which players eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with spherical dye-filled gelatin capsules called paintballs that break upon impact.
