CNN Philippines Network News, (titled as CNN Philippines Network News with Pia Hontiveros for its weekday broadcasts) or simply Network News was the first flagship evening newscast of CNN Philippines. It aired seven days a week at 6:00pm Philippine Standard Time, PST. The program's 60-minute weekday broadcast was anchored by the network's chief correspondent Pia Hontiveros and a 30-minute weekend edition was anchored by Mai Rodriguez. CNN Philippines Network News premiered on June 18, 2012, as Solar Network News and ended on March 26, 2017, after almost five years under different incarnations. Antonio Fuentes Trillanes IV (; born August 6, 1971) is a retired Philippine naval officer who also served as a senator of the Philippines from 2007 to 2019. Its weekday editions were co-anchored by John Berman since 2018 and Brianna Keilar since 2021. Since May 20, 2019, ''New Day'' has been broadcast live from CNN's new set located in Studio 19Y, at CNN's new base, 30 Hudson Yards, in New York City. Typhoon Hagupit (, ɐguˈpit Filipino word meaning "lashing or flogging"), known in the Philippines as Typhoon Ruby, was the second most intense tropical cyclone in 2014. Hagupit particularly impacted the Philippines in early December while gradually weakening, killing 18 people and causing $114 million (2014 USD) in the country.
