CMLL Leyendas Mexicanas
''CMLL Leyendas Mexicanas'' (Spanish language, Spanish for "Mexican Legends") is the collective name of a series of annually occurring ''lucha libre'', or professional wrestling supercard how promoted by Mexico, Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Starting in 2017 CMLL has held specially themed shows to celebrate the history of lucha libre and features a number of lucha libre legends invited to wrestled for CMLL for the shows. There has been a total of two events promoted under that name, with a third scheduled for December 6, 2019, all taking place on special editions of CMLL's Friday night ''CMLL Super Viernes, Super Viernes'' shows at Arena México. Mano Negra (wrestler)
Jesús Reza Rosales (born January 15, 1951) is a Mexican ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Mano Negra. Mano Negra is Spanish for "The Black Hand" and is taken from the Spanish anarchist organisation ''La Mano Negra''. Rosales is a former two time holder of the NWA World Welterweight Championship, two time holder of the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship, and the Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship while working for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL). He also worked for the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) where he held the UWA World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship and for the World Wrestling Association (WWA) where he held the WWA Lightweight Championship. Negro Casas 40th Anniversary Show
The Negro Casas 40th Anniversary Show, or more properly Funcion Homenaje a Atlantis por sus 40 Años como luchador (Spanish for "Tribute to Negro Casas for 40 years as a wrestler") was a professional wrestling super card held on August 3, 2018. The show was produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL: Spanish for "World Wrestling Council") and took place at Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The special edition of CMLL's Super Viernes show honored CMLL wrestler Negro Casas for reaching his 40th anniversary as a professional wrestler. While Negro Casas was honored at the show he did not wrestle in the main event, instead he teamed up with Atlantis and Blue Panther, defeating Fuerza Guerrera, Octagón and El Solar in the fourth match of the night. Fuerza Guerrera (born December 13, 1953) is a Mexican ''Luchador enmascarado'' (or masked professional wrestler) who made his debut in 1978. In his career Guerrera has worked for every major wrestling organization in Mexico including Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), AAA, Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), World Wrestling Association (WWA) and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Throughout his career Fuerza Guerrera has held many titles for CMLL, AAA and IWRG. Jorge Rivera Soriano (born September 2, 1964) is a Mexican luchador (Spanish for "professional wrestler") who is best known as a trainer. He has been a ''tecnico'' throughout his wrestling career. He is currently training wrestlers at Arena Xalapa, different states of Mexico and the United States. Professional wrestling career Rivera started wrestling in 1987 under the names of "Porsche" and "El Seminarista". As El Seminarista, he won a Luchas de Apuestas (bet match) against a young Super Crazy for his mask. He later wrestled as "La Flecha" between 1988 and 1993. Super Muñeco (''Super Doll'') (10 April 1952 – 9 February 2022) was a Mexican ''Luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler. Super Muñeco is Spanish for "Super Doll", a comedic ring character based on a clown. Super Muñeco is best known for having the second highest number of ''Luchas de Apuestas'' "bet match" wins, having won the mask or hair of over 100 wrestlers. Per the tradition of masked wrestlers in Mexico, Super's real name and identity have not yet been revealed. Felipe Estrada (born June 19, 1952), known as El Canek or simply Canek, is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'' or masked professional wrestler best known for the 20 years he worked for the Universal Wrestling Association where he held the UWA World Heavyweight Championship a total of 15 times. As the major heavyweight working for the Universal Wrestling Association promotion, he became one of Lucha Libre's biggest attractions during the 1980s especially through his high-profile matches against non-Mexicans that sold out numerous shows and led to the UWA using the same formula of "Canek vs. the foreigner" for over a decade. Tomás Díaz Mendoza (born April 9, 1965) is a Mexican professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Villano IV (''Villano Cuarto''). Within the stable Los Villanos, he has wrestled for Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), AAA, and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Jesús Reyes González (born 10 March 1958) is a Mexican ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Máscara Año 2000 or Máscara Año Dos Mil. His ring name is Spanish for "Mask of the year 2000", originally referring to the mask Reyes wore while wrestling. Carmelo Reyes González (born October 18, 1949) is a Mexican retired professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Cien Caras ("Hundred Faces"). Lucha Libre
Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached.
