CMLL Día De Muertos (2018)
The CMLL Día de Muertos (2018) (Spanish for "Day of the Dead") is a professional wrestling pay-per-view event, scripted and produced by the Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The show took place on November 2, 2018, in CMLL's main venue, Arena México, in Mexico City, Mexico and celebrated the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration. Many of the wrestlers working the show wore the traditional Día de Muertos face and body paint for the Día de Muerto event. From the fourth match on the losing wrestlers were be dragged to ''El Inframundo'' ("The Underworld"), a side entrance in the arena, by a group of wrestlers dressed up as minions of the ruler of the underworld. As part of the show Sansón successfully defended the ''Rey del Inframundo'' ("King of the Underworld") championship that he won at the 2017 Día de Muertos show against challenger Templario. Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre Co., Ltd. (CMLL; , "World Wrestling Council") is a ''lucha libre'' professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico City. Rey Fénix (born December 30, 1990) is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'' (masked professional wrestler) signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where he is current double champion as the Latin American and World Cruiserweight Champion. Valiente (born May 30, 1974) is a Mexican ''luchador enmáscarado'', or masked professional wrestler, and is mainly known for his work in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects.
