CMLL Día De Muertos (2017)
The CMLL Día de Muertos(2017) (Spanish for "Day of the Dead") is professional wrestling supercard event scripted and produced by the Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The show took place on November 3, 2017 at CMLL's main venue, Arena México, in Mexico City, Mexico and celebrated the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday that ends on November 2 each year. For the event several wrestlers wore traditional Día de Muertos face and body paint. From the fourth match on the losing wrestlers would be dragged to ''El Inframundo'' ("The Underworld"), a side entrance in the arena. by a group of wrestlers dressed up as minions of the ruler of the underworld. The main event was a Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match where Los Guerreros Laguneros ( Euforia, Gran Guerrero and Último Guerrero) defeated Carístico, Rush and Volador Jr. by disqualification. Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre Co., Ltd. (CMLL; , "World Wrestling Council") is a ''lucha libre'' professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico City. The promotion was previously known as ''Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre'' (''EMLL'') (''Mexican Wrestling Enterprise''). Gran Guerrero (born 1993) is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'' (or masked professional wrestler), who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He portrays a ''rudo'' ("bad guy") wrestling character. He was originally introduced to the wrestling world under the ring name Último Guerrero Jr. in 2009 as the storyline son of Último Guerrero. He later made his wrestling debut under the name Taurus. Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. María Elena Santamaría Gómez (born May 31, 1971) is a Mexican professional wrestler, known mainly for her work in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where she works under the ring name Marcela. As Marcela, she is one of the top ''técnicas'' (the "good" characters, or faces) in CMLL. Her daughter is also a professional wrestler, known under the name Skadi, who often teams with her mother. The CMLL World Women's Championship (''Campeonato Mundial Femenil de CMLL'' in Spanish) is the championship in women's professional wrestling that is most highly promoted by the Mexican lucha libre promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Ramón Ibarra Rivera (born January 26, 1981), better known by his ring name Volador Jr., is a Mexican ''luchador'' (or professional wrestler), who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
