CKSE-FM (106.1 MHz, ''Rock 106'') is a mainstream rock formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, serving Estevan and Divide and Burke counties in North Dakota. CKSE is owned and operated by Golden West Broadcasting. As of the 2016/2017 hockey season, the station is also now the official carrier of Estevan Bruins hockey broadcasts. CJSL
CJSL is a Canadian radio station licensed to Estevan, Saskatchewan, and serves the southeastern portion of the province. CJSL broadcasts a country format as well as live sports. The station is currently owned by Golden West Broadcasting, which also owns Estevan's two FM stations, CHSN-FM and CKSE-FM. Hockey games involving the senior Big 6 Hockey League are broadcast by the station in the winter, while in the summer the station carries Toronto Blue Jays baseball. History CJSL began as a satellite station of Weyburn's CFSL after the Soo Line Broadcasting Company Ltd. applied to use the frequency of 1280 kHz. In August 1961, CJSL signed on the air with a power of 1,000 watts, effectively becoming Estevan's first radio station. CHSN-FM
CHSN-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 102.3 FM in Estevan, Saskatchewan. The station is currently owned & operated by Golden West Broadcasting and plays a hot adult contemporary format under the brand name ''Sun 102''. History Golden West received approval from the CRTC on April 26, 2001, and the station was launched in November of the same year. CHSN was the first sister station to CJSL. At launch, the station had an adult contemporary format. CHSN's format, branding and call sign were all adopted from a radio station in Saskatoon whose owner, Rawlco Communications, dropped them to launch a new active rock station, CJDJ. In 2012, following the launch of CKSE-FM, CHSN switched to a hot adult contemporary format, with a much heavier emphasis on Top 40 pop. Divide County is a county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,195. Its county seat is Crosby. History On November 8, 1910, election, the voters of Williams County voters determined that the county should be divided into a northern and a southern county. The vote was affirmative; the southern portion retained the Williams name; the newly created county was named "Divide", with Crosby as the seat. Burke County, North Dakota
Burke County is a county on the north edge of the U.S. state of North Dakota, adjacent to the south line of Canada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,201. The county seat is Bowbells. The county is named after John Burke, the tenth Governor of North Dakota. History A vote was held on November 3, 1908, in which county voters authorized the partition of Burke County from what was then known as 'Imperial Ward County' (which consisted of what is now Burke, Mountrail, Renville, and Ward counties). Its name recognized the state governor at the time, John Burke. However, the vote was challenged in court, and appealed to the state supreme court.
