CIWW (1310 kHz, ''CityNews Ottawa'') is a commercial AM radio station in Ottawa, Ontario, owned by Rogers Sports & Media, and branded as '' CityNews Ottawa''. It simulcasts a News/Talk radio format, along with co-owned 101.1 CJET-FM. The radio studios and offices are at Thurston Drive and Conroy Road in Ottawa. The station broadcasts at 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. The transmitter site is on McKenna Casey Drive, near Strandherd Drive and Ontario Highway 416 in Nepean. To protect other stations on 1310 AM, it uses a directional antenna. By day it employs a two- tower array and at night a five-tower array. The nighttime signal is beamed mainly into Canada. Toronto Blue Jays Radio Network
The Toronto Blue Jays Radio Network consists of 21 stations (17 AM, 4 FM) in 7 Canadian provinces broadcasting the team's games in English. At the start of the 2021 season, the radio broadcasts consisted of a simulcast of the audio from the Sportsnet television broadcasts of Blue Jays games, featuring play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman and colour analysts Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler, with Rob Wong and Shoaib Ali serve as on-air hosts. The simulcasts continued through the end of July, after which a dedicated radio broadcast was used with Ben Wagner calling play-by-play. From 2018 to 2020, the radio team consisted of play-by-play announcers Wagner and Mike Wilner. Nepean, Ontario
Nepean ( ) is a former municipality and now geographic area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located west of Ottawa's inner core, it was an independent city until amalgamated with the Regional Municipality of Ottawa–Carleton in 2001 to become the new city of Ottawa. However, the name Nepean continues in common usage in reference to the area. The population of Nepean is about 186,593 people (2021 Census). King's Highway 416, commonly referred to as Highway 416 and as the Veterans Memorial Highway, is a 400-series highway in the Canadian province of Ontario that connects the Trans-Canada Highway ( Highway 417) in Ottawa with Highway 401 between Brockville and Cornwall. Simulcast (a portmanteau of simultaneous broadcast) is the broadcasting of programmes/programs or events across more than one resolution, bitrate or medium, or more than one service on the same medium, at exactly the same time (that is, simultaneously).
