CIR Group (''Compagnie Industriali Riunite'') is an Italian holding company listed on the stock exchange which is 46% controlled by COFIDE of the De Benedetti family. The company was founded in 1976, when Carlo De Benedetti acquired the company Concerie Italiane Riunite, a Turin based tanning company, from its historic owner the Bocca family and transformed it into an industrial holding company. The company was then renamed Compagnie Industriali Riunite. Chief Executive of CIR for almost twenty years, Rodolfo De Benedetti is now Executive Chairman of the company. Monica Mondardini is Chief Executive. Today CIR heads an industrial group active in three main sectors: media, automotive components, healthcare. Guido Enrico Tabellini (born January 26, 1956) is an Italian economist, rector of Bocconi University from November 2008 until July 2012. Tabellini received his Laurea in 1980 from the University of Turin, and his Ph.D. in 1984 from UCLA. He first taught at Stanford, then at UCLA, and later in Italy. He is past president of the European Economic Association. He was consultant to the World Bank and Italian government. In 2003 Tabellini published ''The Economic Effects of Constitutions. Rodolfo De Benedetti (Torino, 2 July 1961) is an Italian entrepreneur and company executive, Chairman of the CIR Group (Compagnie Industriali Riunite). Biography Rodolfo De Benedetti was born in Turin in July 1961, the eldest son of Carlo De Benedetti and Mita Crosetti. He has two brothers, Marco and Edoardo.
