CFCF (musician)
CFCF is the stage name of Canadian electronic musician/vocalist Michael Silver. Based in Montreal, Silver took the name CFCF from the call sign of the city's CFCF-TV. Silver has released five albums and several EPs. In 2015 he released two albums within two weeks: ''Radiance and Submission'' on July 31, and ''The Colours of Life'' on August 14. His most recent release is ''memoryland'' (2021). Background Originally from Montreal, Silver became interested in electronic music at an early age. Self-taught, he cites Peter Gabriel, DJ Shadow, the Yellow Magic Orchestra and Talk Talk as important influences. His first 7" single "You Hear Colours" / "Invitation to Love" was released on March 8, 2009, on the Acéphale label. The title of his first EP ''Panesian Nights'' was chosen in reference to the developer of Japanese erotic video games. Holy Ghost!
Holy Ghost! is an American synthpop duo from Brooklyn, New York City. Founded in 2007, the duo consists of Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel. History Millhiser and Frankel both grew up on the Upper West Side of New York City and attended Trevor Day School together. They were later part of a hip hop group called Automato. Automato's debut album was produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy of DFA. According to Frankel, after the release of the album, Automato "kind of fell apart". Millhiser and Frankel kept working on music, their collaboration having already begun moving towards the alternative dance genre. The name Holy Ghost! was selected just before the pressing of their debut single "Hold On" in November 2007. "The Colours of Life'" is a composition written and recorded in 2011 by Canadian electronic musician Michael Silver, known by his stage name as CFCF. The 40-minute, twelve-movement track was influenced by what Silver described as "some really cornball music," such as the works of singer Phil Collins and the Windham Hill label. The style Silver went for with "The Colours of Life" was "call waiting background music, just the most pleasant thing and kind of trying to push to the edges of tolerable cheese in some places, but also have it be totally sincere and not ironic, like actually purely pleasurable music." ''Radiance and Submission'' is the third studio album of Canadian electronic musician Michael Silver, known by his stage name as CFCF. Silver was inspired to make ''Radiance and Submission'' from his purchase of an acoustic guitar. Therefore, the LP involves numerous guitar melodies and harmonies playing at the same time. It was released on July 31, 2015 by the label Driftless Recordings and was Silver's first ''Billboard'' entry, peaking at number eight on the magazine's American New Age Albums chart. ''Radiance and Submission'' garnered a mixed critical reception upon its distribution. Recording and concept ''Radiance and Submission'' was recorded in the winter of 2013 to 2014. ''Outside'' is the second studio album of Canadian electronic musician Michael Silver, known by his stage name as CFCF. Silver began work on a second CFCF LP shortly after the release of his debut album ''Continent'' (2009) in order to increase his reputation of being more than just a "house DJ." Harald Grosskopf
Harald Grosskopf (born Harald Großkopf) is a German electronic musician. He played with several Krautrock and progressive rock bands of the 1970s in Germany, and released solo music. Biography Grosskopf was born in Hildesheim on October 23, 1949. He started his career in the 1960s as a drummer in the beat group The Stuntmen, and toward the end of the decade played in a then-unknown Scorpions. He later played drums in Wallenstein and Ashra, as well as for many of Klaus Schulze's solo albums. In 1980, he issued his debut LP, ''Synthesist'', which became a cult classic of German electronic music. New York’s RVNG international label reissued the album, with remakes by James Ferraro, Oneohtrix and others in February 2011. In 1980 Grosskopf co-founded the Neue Deutsche Welle band Lilli Berlin, and he remained their drummer until 1983. Azari & III (pronounced "Azari and Third") was a Canadian music group, formed in 2008, which performed house, electronic and dance music. They released their self-titled debut album in 2011 and earned recognition on the dance music scene with the hits "Hungry for the Power" and "Reckless (With Your Love)".
