2017–18 Tercera División
The 2017–18 Tercera División was the fourth tier in Spanish football. It began play in August 2017 and ended in late June 2018 with the promotion play-off finals. Competition format *The top four eligible teams in each group will play the promotion playoffs. *The champion of each group will qualify to 2018–19 Copa del Rey. If the champion is a reserve team, the first non-reserve team qualified will join the Copa. *In each group, at least three teams will be relegated to Regional Divisions. Ángel María Villar
Ángel María Villar Llona (born 21 January 1950) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. After having represented Athletic Bilbao during a full decade (appearing in 361 official matches and scoring 11 goals), he went on to serve an even longer stint as president of the Spanish Football Federation. Club career Villar was born in Bilbao and emerged through the youth ranks of local Athletic Bilbao, going on to make his senior debuts in amateur football, loaned, after which he returned in 1971. With the Basque side, he was an undisputed starter in nine of his ten seasons, helping them to two Copa del Rey finals and winning the 1973 edition. Daniel Ruiz-Bazán Justa (born 28 June 1951), commonly known as Dani, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. During his career he played almost exclusively for Athletic Bilbao, scoring nearly 200 competitive goals (exactly 199) in more than one decade with the first team. He was a penalty kick specialist. Carlos Ruiz Herrero
Carlos Ruiz Herrero (born 7 June 1948), known simply as Carlos, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a forward. He spent 11 seasons in La Liga with Athletic Bilbao, appearing in 275 competitive games and scoring 115 goals. José Orúe
José María Orúe Aranguren (17 March 1931 – 30 June 2007) was a Spanish footballer who played as a right back. He spent the vast majority of his professional career – which lasted 18 years – at Athletic Bilbao, appearing in 17 La Liga seasons and winning a total of four major trophies. Club career Orúe was born in Zorroza, a neighbourhood in Bilbao, Biscay. After starting his career at CD Getxo, the 19-year-old signed with Basque club Athletic Bilbao, making his La Liga debut on 31 December 1950 in a 2–0 away loss against Atlético Madrid in what would be his only appearance of the season. José María Maguregui Ibarguchi (16 March 1934 – 30 December 2013) was a Spanish football midfielder and coach. Playing career Born in Ugao-Miraballes, Biscay, Maguregui made his professional debuts in 1952 at the age of 18, with Basque Country giants Athletic Bilbao. Manuel Etura
Manuel González Etura (born 21 February 1934) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a defender. Football career Born in Sestao, Biscay, Etura spent 13 seasons in La Liga with Athletic Bilbao after signing in summer 1953 from neighbouring CD Getxo. He only played 16 games in his first three years combined, his debut coming on 12 December 1954 in a 3–0 home win against Hércules CF. During his stint at the San Mamés Stadium, Etura appeared in 248 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals. His first in the league came on 27 September 1959, but in a 2–3 away loss to Granada CF. Luis María Echeberría Igartua (24 March 1940 – 19 October 2016) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. Koldo Aguirre
Luis María "Koldo" Aguirre Vidaurrázaga (27 April 1939 – 3 July 2019) was a Spanish football midfielder and manager. He played for Athletic Bilbao for twelve years, appearing in 297 competitive matches (61 goals scored) and winning two Copa del Rey trophies.
