CDJ Oran
Club de Derb Jeunesse d'Oran, ( ar, نادي الدرب الشبيبة لوهران) known as CDJ Oran or simply CDJ for a short is an Algerian multisports club founded in 1894 in Oran and play in the Ligue of Oran - Group B. It's the oldest omnisports club in Algeria and North Africa. The club colours are blue and black. The CDJ is also the first club to win the North African Football Cup in 1930-31. History The multisports club was founded on April 14, 1894 by the European settlers in the neighbourhood El-Derb of Oran under the name of Club des Joyeusetés. The football section was created on July 10, 1897. The club was dissolved in 1962 after the independence of Algeria and the departure of the Europeans. After the Independence of Algeria, the football section was resurrected in the 1990s in El-Derb by young Algerians from Oran under the name of ''Club de Derb Jeunesse'', also called ''Club des Jeunes''. Oran ( ar, وَهران, Wahrān) is a major coastal city located in the north-west of Algeria. It is considered the second most important city of Algeria after the capital Algiers, due to its population and commercial, industrial, and cultural importance. It is west-south-west from Algiers. The total population of the city was 803,329 in 2008, while the metropolitan area has a population of approximately 1,500,000 making it the second-largest city in Algeria. Ligue De Football De La Wilaya
Ligue de Football de la Wilaya is the seventh-highest division in the Algerian football league system. The division has ? groups based on the Wilaya of the clubs in the country, with each Wilaya having two groups; ''Honneur'' and ''Pré-Honneur'', each group contains ? teams from their respective Wilaya's. The North African Championship was a football competition involving the territories of French Algeria, French protectorate of Morocco and French protectorate of Tunisia. It was played between the champions of the Tunisian, the Moroccan football league and the 3 Algerian regional leagues. Morocco did not enter their champions until the 1928/29 season. In 1956 the cup was cancelled because Morocco and Tunisia both became independent of France in that year and left the cup. North African Cup
The North African Cup was a football competition involving the then French territories of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia from 1930 to 1956. The tournament was contested between the clubs of five leagues, with Morocco and Tunisia contributing one league each, and Algeria contributing leagues from the districts of Algiers, Constantine and Oran. In 1956 the cup was cancelled as Morocco and Tunisia both became independent of France in that year and left the cup.
