CAV High School
CAV High School, also known as Chandulal Anglo-Vedic High School, is a high school located in Hisar city of Haryana, India. It is the oldest school in Hisar still in operation. It is run and funded by DAV College Managing Committee. In 2004–05, committee started another wing with the name of CAV Senior Secondary School for class XI and XII. Under the same committee, there is another private public school is also running named D N Model School and recently they have started CAV Primary School. Description The school was started on 1 April 1918, by members of Arya Samaj in Hisar. It was named after Lala Chandulal Tayal. Donations came from Seth Chhaju Ram and Lala Lajpat Rai and land was donated by Harilal Tayal, younger brother of Chandulal Tayal. The school is affiliated to Haryana Board of School Education. Hisar (city)
Hisar is a city, municipal corporation and administrative headquarters of Hisar district of Hisar division in the state of Haryana in northwestern India. It is located 161.2 km (100.16 mi) to the west of New Delhi, India's capital, and has been identified as a counter-magnet city for the National Capital Region to develop as an alternative centre of growth to Delhi. The city was founded in 1354 AD, as ''Hisar-e-Firoza'' by Firoz Shah Tughlaq, the Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388. The word Hisar means fort or castle in Persian. Seth Chhaju Ram
Seth Sir Chhaju Ram Lamba (1861–1943) was a Jat tycoon from Bhiwani district of then Punjab (British India) (now Haryana state) and made a fortune in Calcutta during the British Raj period. A philanthropist, he undertook many social improvement projects. He financed the higher studies of Sir Chhotu Ram. Early life He was born in a Hindu Jat family in 1861 at Alakhpura in Bawani Khera tehsil, Bhiwani district of then Punjab (current Haryana state). His father was Chaudhary Salig Ram Lamba and had migrated from the village of Gothra in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan. He was married twice. Subhash Chandra Goenka (born 30 November 1950) is an Indian billionaire media baron. He is the chairman of the Essel Group, an Indian media conglomerate and founded Zee TV in 1992. He was also the chairman of Zee Media but resigned as Director and Non-Executive Chairman of the company on 24 May 2016. Lala Lajpat Rai
Lala Lajpat Rai (28 January 1865 - 17 November 1928) was an Indian author, freedom fighter, and politician. He played a vital role in the Indian Independence movement. He was popularly known as Punjab Kesari. He was one of the three members of the Lal Bal Pal trimurti. He was also associated with management activities of Punjab National Bank in early years and Lakshmi Insurance Company in their early stages in 1894. He died of a severe head injury after 18 days of trauma injuries during a baton charge by police in Lahore, when he led a peaceful protest march against the all-British Simon Commission Indian constitutional reforms.
