Yeovil Town F.C. Seasons
Yeovil Town Football Club, an association football club based in Yeovil, Somerset, was founded in 1895. They were elected to play in the Southern League for the 1922–23 season. After fifty-one seasons in the Southern League, they were elected to play in newly formed Football Conference in 1979. Yeovil were promoted to the Football League Third Division in 2003, after 108 years in non-league football, and the 2004–05 season saw them promoted to the third tier of English football. Yeovil's first and only play-off success came in the 2012–13 season, when they beat Brentford 2–1 at Wembley Stadium to win promotion to the Championship, and the second tier for the first time. Yeovil ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of South Somerset, England. The population of Yeovil at the last census (2011) was 45,784. More recent estimates show a population of 48,564. It is close to Somerset's southern border with Dorset, from London, south of Bristol, from Sherborne and from Taunton. The 1960–61 season was the 81st season of competitive football in England. This season was a particularly historic one for domestic football in England, as Tottenham Hotspur became the first club in the twentieth century to "do the Double" by winning both the League and the FA Cup competitions in the same season. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Western Football League
The Western Football League is a football league in South West England, covering Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, western Dorset, parts of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. The league's current main sponsor is Toolstation, so it is also known as the Toolstation League. The Wiltshire Football League is a football league in England, formed by amalgamation in 1976. All clubs are affiliated to a County Football Association. The area covered by the competition is the county of Wiltshire and 15 miles beyond the county boundary.
