Xinzhuang District
Xinzhuang District () is a district in the western part of New Taipei in northern Taiwan. It has an area of and a population of 413,443 people (2016). History A former name of the area is ''Pulauan'' (). On 15 January 1980, Xinzhuang was upgraded from an urban township to be a county-administered city of Taipei County. On 25 December 2010, Taipei County was upgraded to New Taipei City, and Xinzhuang City was upgraded to a district. District (Republic Of China)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s special municipalities of the second level and provincial cities of the third level formerly under its provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme. Ordinary districts are governed directly by the municipality/city government with district administrators appointed by the mayors to four-year terms. The mountain indigenous district is a local government body with elected district chiefs as well as district council serving four-year terms. History The first administrative divisions entitled "districts" were established in the 1900s when Taiwan was under Japanese rule. Taoyuan City
Taoyuan () is a special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan) located in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City to the north-east, Yilan County, Taiwan, Yilan County to the south-east, and Hsinchu County to the south-west. Losheng Sanatorium
Losheng Sanatorium () is a sanatorium for lepers in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. ''Losheng'' means "happy life". The building was constructed in the 1930s during the Japanese colonial period. There were heated debates and protests about plans to replace Losheng Sanatorium with a MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) depot. History Losheng Sanatorium, originally named Rakusei Sanatorium for Lepers of Governor-General of Taiwan , was built in 1929 during the Japanese colonial period and served as an isolation hospital for leprosy patients. The Japanese government forced leprosy patients to live in this hospital. The first five buildings could house more than 100 patients. Taipei Hospital
The Taipei Hospital () is a public hospital in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History The hospital was established in 1972. On 13 August 2018, a fire broke out at the senior care center on the seventh floor of the hospital which caused 9 fatalities and 30 injuries. The cause of the fire was found out to be a short circuit on hospital bed 235 inside ward 7A23. The New Taipei Municipal DanFeng High School is a school in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. School Situated at the join of Southern Xinzhuang and Linkou Terrace, two beautiful mountains, Shuangfeng Mountain and Mudan Mountain, were believed to be a terrific location in the eyes of Fengshui experts. Danfeng district was, in fact, named after the two mountains. Since the 1960s, because of its great location, the population in Danfeng district had constantly increased. Fu Jen Catholic University
Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU, FJCU or Fu Jen; or ) is a private Catholic university in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The university was founded in 1925 in Beijing at the request of Pope Pius XI and re-established in Taiwan in 1961 at the request of Pope John XXIII, its name means "assistance" and "benevolence".
