Women's Football (soccer)
Women's association football, more commonly known simply as women's football or women's soccer, is a team sport of association football when played by women only. It is played at the professional level in multiple countries and 176 national teams participate internationally. The history of women's football has seen competitions being launched at both the national and international levels. After the "first golden age" of women's football occurred in the United Kingdom in the 1920s, with one match attracting over 50,000 spectators, The Football Association instituted a ban from 1921 to 1970 in England that disallowed women's football on the grounds used by its member clubs. CD Híspalis
Club Deportivo Híspalis is a Spanish football club from Seville founded in 1972. It is best known for its women's team, created in 1992, which currently plays in the Segunda División. History CD Híspalis was one of the eleven founding members of the reunified Superliga Femenina in 2002. For the first three seasons it ranked in the league's bottom half, but in 2004 it signed a collaboration with Sevilla FC to represent it in the Superliga, taking its name, crest and kit. Through this partnership it became one of the leading teams in the league, and in 2006 nearly won the championship; the team stood in the lead before the last round with a two-point advantage over RCD Espanyol, but drew 3–3 at defending champion Athletic Bilbao's ground and Espanyol won their match and claimed the league on goal difference. Fundación Albacete
Fundación Albacete is the women's football section of Albacete Balompié. Founded in 2004 they reached the Spanish league's top division in 2014. History Fundación Albacete was founded in 1997 with the aim to promote sport, education and culture by donations of private sponsors and the support of Albacete Balompié as its founder. It also works as part of the structure of the club's football academy. The women's team of the Foundation promoted to Primera División for the first time in 2014, after six consecutive attempts in the promotion playoffs. Club Deportivo Badajoz Femenino, formerly known as Sociedad Polideportiva Comarca Los Llanos de Olivenza and Club de Fútbol Femenino Badajoz Olivenza, is a Spanish women's football club from Olivenza in Badajoz, Extremadura founded in 2003. Club Deportivo Nuestra Señora de Belén, also known as BigMat Fontecha for sponsorship reasons, is a Spanish women's football club from Burgos. History Originally established in 1990 as Rayo Burgalés in 1990, it took its current name in 1997. Unión Deportiva Granadilla Tenerife, commonly shortened as UDG Tenerife, is a Spanish women's football club based in Granadilla de Abona, in the Canary Islands. The club plays in Liga F, holding home games at ''Estadio Francisco Suárez'', with a 2,000-seat capacity. History The club was founded in 2013 as UD Granadilla Tenerife Sur and started playing its first season in the second division. It won its group but was finally eliminated in the promotion playoffs by Granada. Málaga CF Femenino is the women's football team of Spanish club Málaga CF. It currently plays in Primera División B. History Founded in 1992 as ''Club Atlético Málaga'', they were one of the leading Spanish teams in the second half of the 1990s, and in 1998 they won both the national League and Cup. They are one of four Spanish teams that have won the double, the other ones being CD Oroquieta Villaverde in 1999, Levante UD in 2001 and 2002, and RCD Espanyol in 2006. However this golden era soon came to an end and they were relegated. Atlético Málaga returned to the top-flight in 2008.
