West Australian Netball League
The West Australian Netball League, also referred to as the WA Netball League, is a state netball league featuring teams from Western Australia. It is organised by Netball Western Australia. On a national level, the league is effectively a third level league, below Suncorp Super Netball and the Australian Netball League. It was originally known as the Gold Netball League. During the later 2000s and early 2010s, it was known as the Smarter than Smoking Netball League. Since 2019 it has been known as the Gold Industry Group WANL. Historically, the league's most successful team has been Southside Demons. During the 2010s the most successful team has been West Coast Warriors. South West, Western Australia
Names such as the South West or South West corner, when used to refer to a specific area of Western Australia, denote a region that has been defined in several different ways. Bunbury, Western Australia
Bunbury is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's third most populous city after Perth and Mandurah, with a population of approximately 75,000. Located at the south of the Leschenault Estuary, Bunbury was established in 1836 on the orders of Governor James Stirling, and named in honour of its founder, Lieutenant (at the time) Henry Bunbury. A port was constructed on the existing natural harbour soon after, and eventually became the main port for the wider South West region. Further economic growth was fuelled by completion of the South Western Railway in 1893, which linked Bunbury with Perth. Canning Vale, Western Australia
Canning Vale is a southern suburb of Perth, from the central business district. Its local government areas are the City of Canning (west of Nicholson Road) and the City of Gosnells (east of Nicholson Road). History Canning Vale's name derives from the Canning River, located about to the suburb's northeast. It was locally known as North Jandakot until 1925. Until the late 1970s, Canning Vale was a farming area consisting of mostly market gardens and dairy farms due to its swampy terrain with an unusually high abundance of permanent fresh water. Perth Hills is a term used primarily for marketing purposes to identify the part of the Darling Scarp and hinterland east of the scarp that lies within the Shire of Mundaring, City of Swan, and the City of Kalamunda and as part of the constituent bodies belonging to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council of , Western Australia. The Peel region is one of the nine regions of Western Australia. It is located on the west coast of Western Australia, about south of the state capital, Perth. Mandurah
Mandurah () is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, situated approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's second most populous city, with a population of 107,641 as of the 2021 Australian census, 2021 census. The Perth metropolitan region or the Perth metropolitan area is the administrative area and geographical extent of the Western Australian capital city of Perth and its conurbation. Bentley, Western Australia
Bentley is a southern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, southeast of Perth's central business district. Its local government areas are the City of Canning and the Town of Victoria Park. Bentley is home to the main campus of Curtin University of Technology and Technology Park. History Prior to European settlement, the area was originally home to the Beeloo Nyungar people, whose territory extended from the Canning River to the Darling Scarp.
