Valencian Music
The Music of Valencia in eastern Spain is rich and diverse, due to different external influences. It can be broadly divided into two categories: traditional and contemporary music. Traditional Music All the surrounding country is known for its own variety of Jota and a rich ''dolçaina'' (shawm) tradition. Brass bands are found in almost every village in the region. The Muixeranga, a street festival, is an important tradition that originated in Valencia. Religious and work songs are common in Valencia, many are performed with accompaniment. '' El Misteri d'Elx'' is an old, religious musical play that dates back to mediaeval times. Havaneres are popular all along the Valencian coast. Valencian Community
The Valencian Community ( ca-valencia, Comunitat Valenciana, es, Comunidad Valenciana) is an autonomous community of Spain. It is the fourth most populous Spanish autonomous community after Andalusia, Catalonia and the Community of Madrid with more than five million inhabitants.Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Madrid, 2020. Ball De Bastons
''Ball de bastons'' (, ''stick dance'') is the name of a ritual weapon dance spread throughout Europe and the rest of the Iberian area (''cossiers'' in Majorca, Portuguese ''pauliteiros'', Aragonese ''palotiau'', Basque ''ezpatadantza'' and Spanish ''paloteo'' or ''troqueado'') but mostly in Catalonia. Rock Català
Rock català (, "Catalan Rock") is a type of music popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s involving Catalan lyrics and many different musical styles. The last years of Spain under Franco were shattered by a generation of singers that claimed and called for democracy. In this context, ''La Nova Cançó'' is the protest song musical and political movement of artists singing in Catalan, like Lluís Llach, Raimon or Ovidi Montllor. Shantz Button Factory is a historic button factory located in southeast Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The factory consists of three buildings built between 1903 and 1920. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. Jota (music)
The jota () is a genre of music and the associated dance known throughout Spain, most likely originating in Aragon. It varies by region, having a characteristic form in Aragon (where it is the most important), Catalonia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile, Navarre, Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia (Spain), Galicia, La Rioja (Spain), La Rioja, Murcia and Eastern Andalusia. Being a visual representation, the jota is danced and sung accompanied by castanets, and the interpreters tend to wear regional costumes. Requena, Valencia
Requena is a municipality in eastern Spain, in the province of Valencia, located on the left bank of the river Magro. The town used to be a Moorish fortress, occupying a strong position in the mountainous region of Las Cabrillas (1000 metres).
