Tübingen is one of the four Administrative Regions (Regierungsbezirke) of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located in the south-east of the state. It covers most of the German shore of Lake Constance (''Bodensee''), and also the beginning of the Danube River valley. It is sub-divided into the three regions (): Neckar-Alb, Donau-Iller and Bodensee-Oberschwaben. Donau-Iller also includes three districts and one city of Bavaria. Bodensee (district)
Bodenseekreis ("Lake Constance district") is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the south-east of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west, clockwise) Konstanz, Sigmaringen and Ravensburg, and in Bavaria, Lindau district. To the south, on the opposite shores of Lake Constance, lies Switzerland. History The district was created in 1973, when the previous district Tettnang was merged with most of the district Überlingen. Zollernalbkreis
The Zollernalbkreis is a Districts of Germany, ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The district is located in the Swabian Alb, and contains the second highest elevation of this range, the high ''Oberhohenberg''. In the south-east the district nearly reaches to the river Danube. The district was created on January 1, 1973, when the two previous districts Balingen and Hechingen were merged. Tübingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Böblingen, Reutlingen, Zollernalbkreis and Freudenstadt. History The district dates back to the ''Oberamt Tübingen'' in the state of Württemberg. In 1811 the ''Oberamt Rottenburg'' was created, and both were converted into districts in 1934. In 1938 most of the district Rottenburg as well as a few municipalities from the district Herrenberg and Reutlingen were added to the district Tübingen. In 1974 it was enlarged again when some municipalities from the dissolved district Horb were added. Geography The main river in the district is the Neckar. Sigmaringen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the south of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. History The area of the district was owned by several different states historically. It was split between many minor rulers before the German Mediatisation of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. By 1806 it had become a border area between the Grand Duchy of Baden, the Kingdom of Württemberg, and the much smaller principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen embedded between them. Reutlingen, nicknamed "The Gate to the Swabian Alb" (german: "Das Tor zur Schwäbischen Alb"), is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The former free imperial city (until 1802) reached the limit of 100,000 residents in 1989. It is the ninth-largest city in Baden-Württemberg. Ravensburg is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Biberach () is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Ravensburg, Sigmaringen, Reutlingen and Alb-Donau, and the Bavarian districts Neu-Ulm, Unterallgäu and the district-free city Memmingen. The major towns in the district of Biberach are Biberach an der Riß, Riedlingen, Ochsenhausen and Laupheim.
