Triathlon At The 2015 European Games
The triathlon competitions at the 2015 European Games, in Baku, were held on 13 and 14 June 2015. A total of 105 athletes, 57 men and 48 women, competed. Qualification A maximum of 12 NOCs may qualify three athletes per event. Other NOCs may have a maximum of two quota places per event. Three quota places will be allocated to the first 12 nations to have three athletes eligible through the qualification process. Olympic qualification Triathlon is one of the events where performance in the 2015 Games impact on Olympic Qualification. In the case of triathlon, the winner of each event will secure a quota place for their NOC for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Triathlon At The 2023 European Games
The triathlon competitions at the 2023 European Games, in Kraków, were held on 27 and 28 June, and 1 July, 2023. A total of 120 athletes, 60 men and 60 women, competed. This was the second appearance of triathlon in the European Games program after 2015, and the first appearance of the mixed medley relay. Schedule Qualification The fifty-four highest ranked athletes per sex on the Europe Triathlon Ranking as of 3 May 2023 are allocated one quota place for their NOC, respecting the maximum quota allocation of three per NOC per event. In case the NOC already obtained the quotas, they will not be allocated these quota places. Any nation which qualifies two men and two women will be eligible for the team event. Paris 2024 qualification Triathlon is one of the events where performance in the 2023 Games impacts indirectly on Olympic qualification, by way of ranking points. 2015 European Games
The 2015 European Games, also known as Baku 2015 or Baku 2015 European Games ( az, Bakı 2015 Avropa Oyunları), were the inaugural edition of the European Games, an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the European Olympic Committees. It took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 28 June 2015, and featured almost 6,000 athletes from 50 countries competing in 30 sports, including 15 summer Olympic and 2 non-Olympic sports. Host selection Baku was awarded the right to host the first European Games at the 41st EOC General Assembly in Rome, on 8 December 2012. João Pedro Lopes da Silva (born 15 May 1989) is a Portuguese professional triathlete. He was European U-23 Champion in 2008, 2010 and 2011, National Junior Champion in 2006 and 2007 and the National U-23 Champion in 2008. At the 2012 Summer Olympics Silva placed 9th thus becoming the most decorated male triathlete in Portuguese history. On 23 January 2013, Silva joined S.L. Benfica's triathlon team. Rachel Klamer (born 8 October 1990) is a Dutch professional triathlete and member of the National team. She placed third at the Junior World Championships in 2009. Lisa Nordén (born 24 November 1984, Kristianstad, Skåne, Sweden) is a professional Swedish triathlete, 2012 Olympic silver medalist, and 2008 and 2016 Olympian.
