Prague, Oklahoma
Prague () is a city in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,346 at the 2020 census, an 1.76 percent decrease from the figure of 2,388 in 2010. Czech immigrants founded the city, and named it after the capital of the present-day Czech Republic. History After the opening of the Sac and Fox Reservation by a land run on September 22, 1891, Czech immigrants settled and founded Prague. Eva Barta owned the land, and named the new town "Prague" for the Czech capital in Europe, then part of Austria-Hungary. Louisburg, Kansas
Louisburg is a city in Miami County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the city was 4,969. History 19th century Prior to the American Civil War, the land of what is now called Louisburg was part of an area reserved for members of various tribes of Native Americans in the United States, Native Americans who were ceding their lands in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Settling there were the Peoria (tribe), Peoria, Wea, Piankeshaw, and Kaskaskia tribes which together eventually became the Confederated Tribe of Peoria. Johnson County, Arkansas
Johnson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,749. The county seat is Clarksville. Johnson County is Arkansas's 30th county, formed on November 16, 1833, from a portion of Pope County and named for Benjamin Johnson, a Territorial Judge. It is an alcohol prohibition or dry county. The Ada Mills Bridge links the Arkansas River between Johnson and Logan counties. It is named for Ada Mills, a former Republican political activist who lobbied for the structure for forty years before its completion. Dyer, Arkansas
Dyer is a city in Crawford County, Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 876 at the 2010 census. History Dyer was platted in 1884 by G. E. Dyer soon after the Little Rock and Fort Smith Railroad was extended to that point. The community has the name of the local Dyer family; S. M. Dyer bought the town site in 1870. A post office has been in operation at Dyer since 1885. Alma, Arkansas
Alma is a city in Crawford County, Arkansas, United States. It is located within the Arkansas River Valley at the edge of the Ozark Mountains; the city is the sixth largest in the Fort Smith metropolitan area. The population was 5,419 at the 2010 Census. Castro County, Texas
Castro County is a County (United States), county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, its population was 7,371. Its county seat is Dimmitt, Texas, Dimmitt. The county was named for Henri Castro, who was consul general to France for the Republic of Texas and the founder of a colony in Texas. The county was originally created in 1876. It was organized in 1891, and a courthouse was built about the town square. Temporary county office space, meanwhile, was obtained from businessman J. N. Friona, Texas
Friona is a city in Parmer County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,123 at the 2010 census. Friona was established as a small community in 1898 by XIT Ranch, originally called Frio, which is also the word for "cold" in Spanish. The community served as a shipping point for the Pecos and Northern Texas Railroads. In 1906, The George G. Wright Land CO. chose the community for a colonization project, promising settlers of fertile soil, and a healthful climate. The community then became known as Friona after the opening of a post office in March 16, 1907 and started to construct various buildings, which were a hotel, livery stable and a bank. Soon after, the first church in Friona was constructed, and then in the following year of 1908 a school. In 2007, the Texas State Legislature declared Friona the "Cheeseburger Capital of Texas".
