''Top Model,'' also called ''Next Top Model,'' is a fashion-themed reality television show format produced in many countries throughout the world and seen in over 120 countries producing over 200 seasons, which are referred to as "cycles". The show takes the form of a modeling competition whose winners typically receive a contract with a major modeling agency and a cover shoot and fashion photo spread in a fashion magazine. The format was created by Tyra Banks for the original series, ''America's Next Top Model,'' which first aired in 2003 and was produced by Ken Mok's 10 by 10 Entertainment. Format description Contestants Each cycle of the show consists of 6–40 episodes and begins with 9–31 contestants. Tyra Banks
Tyra Lynne Banks (born December 4, 1973), also known as BanX, is an American television personality, model, producer, writer, and actress. Born in Inglewood, California, she began her career as a model at the age of 15, and was the first African-American woman to be featured on the covers of '' GQ'' and the ''Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue'', on which she appeared three times. She was a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. By the early 2000s, Banks was one of the world's top-earning models. Banks began acting on television in the sitcom ''The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'' (1993), and made her film debut in the drama ''Higher Learning'' (1995). In 2000, she had major film roles, such as Eve in Disney Channel's ''Life-Size'' and Zoe in the box-office hit '' Coyote Ugly.'' ''HaDugmaniot'' ( he, הדוגמניות; en, The Models) is an Israeli reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' ''America's Next Top Model'' and is aired on Channel 10. The show pits contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win a modelling contract and other prizes in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry. Judges History The show is hosted by Galit Gutmann, one of Israel's leading models. The biggest difference between ''HaDugmaniyot'' and ''ANTM'' is the live finale aired as the end of each season where two already eliminated contestants get voted back into the top 5. Season 1 the contestants that were voted back were Viktoriya Katzman and Ines Chalif. Season 2 was Alisia Estrin and Natali Sabag. Season 3 was Tslil Sela and Rita Avas. ''Vietnam's Next Top Model'' (''Người mẫu Việt Nam'', or VNTM) is a Vietnamese reality television show in which contestants compete for the title of "Vietnam's Next Top Model." Contestants are given the opportunity to begin a career in the modeling industry, and the winner receives a cash prize and a feature article in a fashion magazine. Background The competition follows a group of female contestants (including male contestants from season 4-7) at least 18 years old. They live together in a house for several months and take part in various challenges, such as posing for photographs. Become a Model'')) is a Polish reality television series based on Tyra Banks' "'' America's Next Top Model"'', which sees a number of aspiring models compete against each other in a variety of competitions to win the title of ''Top Model'' among other prizes in hopes of a successful career in the modeling business. Britain's Next Top Model (season 6)
The sixth cycle of ''Britain's Next Top Model'', premiered on 5 July 2010 on Sky Living. This cycle featured a completely revamped judging panel. Host Lisa Snowdon was replaced by model Elle Macpherson. The new judging panel consisted of fashion designer Julien McDonald, fashion stylist Grace Woodward, and male model Charley Speed. The prizes for this cycle included a modelling contract with Models 1, a fashion spread and cover feature in ''Company'' magazine, and a £100,000 contract with Revlon cosmetics, which included a photo shoot for the company's Colorburst Lipstick and campaigns posing as the face of Revlon's Autumn/Winter 2010 trend collection launching in the UK in November. The winner normally receives a modelling contract, cosmetics campaign, and a spread within a fashion magazine which also included appearing on the front cover. The eighth cycle of ''Australia's Next Top Model'' began airing 9 July 2013 on Fox8. Former host Sarah Murdoch left the show and was replaced by Jennifer Hawkins. Alex Perry and Charlotte Dawson returned as judges for this season with Didier Cohen joining the show as a new judge. This is the last series of ''Australia's Next Top Model'' to feature Dawson, before she died of an apparent suicide five months after it ended. Season three of ''Australia's Next Top Model'' premiered on 27 March 2007 on Fox8. Former model and designer of swimsuit collection Tigerlily, Jodhi Meares replaced Erika Heynatz as the host of the show after the latter was involved in a breach of contract following her appearance on the Seven Network series '' It Takes Two'' in 2006. ''Australia's Next Top Model'' is an Australian reality television series which premiered on 11 January 2005 and concluded on 22 November 2016, and was based on Tyra Banks' ''America's Next Top Model''. It was broadcast on the Australian subscription television channel, Fox8. Premise The series featured a group of young female contestants who attended preliminary auditions across Australia with finalists selected to star in the series proper, where they ended up living together in a house for several weeks whilst taking part in lectures, challenges, photo shoots and meetings with members of the modelling industry. ''New Zealand's Next Top Model, Season 3'' is the third and final season of ''New Zealand's Next Top Model'' which is a reality TV show based on ''America's Next Top Model''. Fourteen young women compete for the title and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry. ''New Zealand's Next Top Model'' (''NZNTM'') is a New Zealand reality television series in which a number of young women compete for the title of ''New Zealand's Next Top Model'' and the chance to start their career in the modeling industry. The show's format was originally created by American talk-show host and model Tyra Banks. The New Zealand series is hosted by former model and 62 Models Management founder Sara Tetro, and airs on TV3 NZ. The winner of NZNTM wins a modelling contract with Sara's agency. Like its American counterpart, NZNTM features a photographer and international model on its judging panel, Chris Sisarich and Colin Mathura-Jeffree, respectively. Benelux' Next Top Model
''Benelux' Next Top Model'' was a Dutch-language reality television show that aired in Belgium and the Netherlands. The show was a merge between ''Holland's Next Top Model'', and the Belgian television series '' Topmodel''. The first season premiered in September 2009, and was hosted by Dutch writer and former model Daphne Deckers. Despite the Benelux reference in the title, the program was not broadcast in Luxembourg or Wallonia. On May 9, 2011 it was announced that ''Benelux' Next Top Model'' would not be renewed for a third season. The Dutch production team would continue with a domestic fifth season in the Netherlands, again under the title of ''Holland's Next Top Model''.
