Timrå IK Players
Timrå () is a locality and the seat of Timrå Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden with 10,443 inhabitants in 2010. It is located about 13 km north of Sundsvall (a town with a metropolitan area of some 100,000 inhabitants), and could arguably be considered a satellite to that town. The two closest cities (Sundsvall and Härnösand) share one airport, Midlanda, that is geographically located in Timrå. Indalsälven, one of Sweden's largest rivers with a length of 430 km, meets the Gulf of Botnia in Timrå. In Sweden, Timrå is mainly known for its ice hockey club Timrå IK, which, as of season 2021/22 plays in the Swedish top division SHL. In 1995, Swedish artist Bengt Lindström constructed the Y, a 30 meter high sculpture located in Timrå. Timrå IK
Timrå IK is a professional Swedish ice hockey team based in Timrå, north of Sundsvall. It competes in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), which is the top-tier league in Sweden, since being promoted by winning 2021 SHL qualifiers. Previous seasons in the top Swedish division include 1956–57 to 1975–76, 1977–78, 1981–82, 2000–01 to 2012–13 and 2018–19. The team's home venue is NHC Arena with a capacity of 6,000 spectators. Anton Lander
Sven Anton Lander (born April 24, 1991) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre for Timrå IK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Lander was drafted in the second round, 40th overall, at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. Playing career Lander broke into the Swedish Elitserien during the 2007–08 season as a centre for Timrå IK. He had also represented Timrå in the junior league between the 2006–07 and 2008–09 seasons. Lander was named one of the alternate captains for the team on 22 September 2009. Before leaving Sweden, Lander played for Timrå IK in the Elitserien, where his father, Anders "Ante" Karlsson was the head coach. Anna Olsson (born 14 March 1964 in Timrå) is a Swedish sprint canoeist who competed from the mid-1980s to the early 2000s (decade). Competing in five Summer Olympics, she won four medals with one gold (1984: K-2 500 m), one silver (1984: K-4 500 m), and two bronzes (1992 and 1996: both K-4 500 m). Mats Näslund
Mats Torsten Näslund (born 31 October 1959), nicknamed "Le Petit Viking", is a Swedish people, Swedish former ice hockey player. He played as a Winger (ice hockey), left winger. Despite his small size at only five feet and seven inches, Näslund is best known for being one of the top forwards with the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens in the 1980s. In addition to the Canadiens, Näslund played for Timrå IK, Brynäs IF, and Malmö Redhawks, Malmö IF of the Swedish Elite League, and HC Lugano of the National League A. He made a short NHL comeback attempt in 1995 with the Boston Bruins following a 1994-95 NHL lockout, lockout, and retired after the season's conclusion. Henrik Forsberg
Henrik Forsberg (born 16 February 1967) is a Swedish former cross-country skier and biathlete who competed from 1988 to 2001. Competing in four Winter Olympics, he earned his best finishes at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville in cross-country skiing with a fourth in the 4 × 10 km relay and ninth in the 10 km + 15 km combined pursuit. Forsberg's best finish at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was fifth in the 50 km event at Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1995. His lone World Cup victory was in a 30 km event in Sweden in 1991. Henrik Flyman (born on September 6 in Sundsvall, Sweden) is a composer, guitarist and producer. He is active in the bands Lacrimosa, Evil Masquerade and his own solo career. Biography Henrik Flyman is best known as a touring and recording musician with Lacrimosa and his own band Evil Masquerade. In the early days of his career Henrik was a founding member of the Swedish fantasy metal band Moahni Moahna where he was active between 1992-1997. A few years later he formed ZooL, which was basically Moahni Moahna with a modified line up and a more classic hard rock sound. ZooL had a brief career and did only release one album. Magdalena "Magda" Forsberg (née Wallin; born 25 July 1967) is a Swedish former cross-country skier and biathlete. She was the dominating female biathlete from 1997 to 2002, when she retired, winning the Biathlon World Cup for six years straight. She is also a six-times world champion, a two-times Olympic bronze medalist, and holds the record for the most World Cup victories in women's biathlon. Lennart Svedberg
Jan Lennart "Lill-Strimma" Svedberg (29 February 1944 – 29 July 1972) was a Swedish ice hockey defenceman. He played for Timrå IK and Brynäs IF. He also played on the Swedish national team during six IIHF World Championships and the 1968 Winter Olympics. Svedberg was named best defenceman at the 1970 World Championships. Svedberg died in a road accident outside of Timrå, Sweden, in July 1972, colliding with Leif Engvalls' tour-bus.
